Marchies in June

You may be bloated from the traveling. Let everything settle down for a couple of days and then way again. I know that my system during traveling doesn't quite work. Take care!

So had my fill today. No flouro. Put in 1.6cc in my 4cc band. To me that seems like a lot, numbers wise, but he said it might take a couple of fills before I noticed and since I could drink Water ok, we'll see. I'm on liquids for two days and was told to expect some tummy discomfort. Doc said that the volume of the band probably would't be a concern for me, given my weight loss already, and that most people didn't have any issues with that so that was good. When asked what weight I should end up with said that depends but I should be able to end up mid 100's without a problem and that I was doing great considering everything.

So far today I have just sipped on some crystal lite. I'll probably have a Protein small Protein Drink later. Its nice to not be hungry! I'm a little nervous I'll need an unfill or something, but if I do, then I'll deal with that. Right now I'm scheduled to come back in five weeks, but I can keep pushing that apointment back they said if I don't need to come in.

I'm sort of cranky today because I can't find a piece of paper. I hate when that happens. I need to resend my admissions office the results of my basic skills tests because the person that needs them doesn't have access to the database the university gets the results on. Well I got those results back in March. And I have no clue where I put them!! You would think I would have put them someplace good. I hate it when I can't find stuff. Its for the K-12 certification program. So I either need to find that soon or get another copy. And get organized, of course. My to do is too long.

Find test results, call and see when I can get a new autopap mask (mine is wearing out), call about bills (why is this always on my lists), clean (again, why is this always on lists), sort, organize, clear stuff off of dining room table. Hey at least laundry isn't on there! And no cooking or dishes for a couple of days! Whoo Hoo for that!

I have a portable scanner, its USB powered. I need to keep it with my notebook compute and scan in papers that are important so I always have copies. If I ever unpack and find that thing, that is. Someday... Before the fall semester. I even mean it this time. I wonder how much weight I can lose by August 20th? Halloween? Christmas? When will I reach goal? I'm not in a hurry to have it gone, but it is interesting to me to consider these things.

Latley I have been learning about hair and makeup. Now I have tons of hair, but I am a hair idiot. I've decided to grow my hair out however. It has about seven more inches to go before its waist length. I figure that will take a year. So I'm learning how to finally do stuff like french braid and fliptails and well, hairstyles now. I really have no idea how to do any of this stuff, but I got some books on the subject. And I've been reading up on makeup and trying out different brands and products. I actually found a foundation that matches my skin! Its from justforredheads.com. Then when I get down to goal weight and my final size I can start to learn about clothes and things like that. Its all very confusing, at least to me.

Denise-

I'm in Columbus, Ohio and she is in Kalamzoo. It's 284 miles from door to door. It's a 4-5 hour drive. I hate that she lives there. She was working in Columbus, knowing she would be transferred back to MI, so we weren't supposed to last, but you know love happens.

Thanks for the praise. I'd love to do your trip in Sonoma. Can you send me a link? We are talking about going to CA next year...that would be fun. Drinking and Biking! ha ha! You'll have a blast!

Laralynn- How's the belly dance/yoga class?!

Rosi- Welcome back home! You'll get back on track in no time!

Hey, Thickchick, Now what ever made you think they didn't sell beer in Texas on Monday? If you go to a wet county you can even buy beer in quick stops on Sunday.

Your food list for yesterday doesn't look too good. I don't see much Protein and a lot of white carbs. I hope you had some Protein Drinks at times. I'm not trying to be a food police, just noticing.

I'm sorry you have a hang over this morning. They suck. Being old though I haven't had a head hang over for a long time but I do have a continual belly hangover.lol Have a good day.

Good Morning Marchies!

Trying to get in some Master Gardener Volunteer hours this last weekend and way over did it! I know better than to bend over for 2 hours weeding flower beds! The muscle in the back of my left leg is really pulled, and this happened Sat. Walked 2.3 miles so far today...I can't baby this stupid injury any longer.

My new morning routine: Walk 1 mile, drive kids to daycare, drive back home, walk to work, walk back home on my lunch hour and get the mini van to get the kids from daycare after work! It's 2.4 miles round trip and it felt so good to do it this morning

I have got to get my eating under control. I'm not over eating, just making the wrong decisions. (doritos, Cookies, nuts, raisins, m & m's)

if my DH wants Peanut Butter filled oreos, he can keep them in his truck!!

****My new favorite, Paul Neuman Low fat Seasme Ginger Salad Dressing, YUM!

Everyone have a wonderful day, keep up the good work.

Good morning, Marchies. Just checking in--looks like everyone is doing great.

I had my 3rd fill yesterday--I hope it helps. There was only one day last week that I felt that I even had a band. Usually I can eat anything and lots of it. I'm trying to control myself and am still losing but I WANT RESTRICTION! I'm tired of being hungry. So, maybe this fill will do the trick--can't wait to try real food tomorrow and see. The upside is that I haven't ever slimed or PB'd and, as I said, I'm still losing (2 lbs in the past 2 weeks--not breaking any records here!).

I have a question: I changed my ticker and when I tried to save it I got a message that said my signature was too long. I got rid of my quote and it was still too long. So I had to get rid of the June challenge (and I was doing so well!) to finally make it short enough. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? It seems that my signature isn't as long as some others. Just wondering.

Keep MARCH-ing with the BAND through June. Good luck to us all. Karen

Thickchick,

I wasn't trying to be critical about what you were eating. It just didn't seem to be much Protein. I buy Protein Powder at bariatriceating.com. Everything I've gotten so far has been good. I bought some of the nectar flavored protein and mix it with plain Water or crystal light or diet citrus green tea, really cold. I do the chocolate protein with fat free milk and I hate milk. They also have protein chips and other such stuff.

Hey

This is the first time I've had a chance to check in for a while.

I had to go to Puerto Rico b/c my dad had emergency surgery. Hospitals there are WAY different then here.

My sister and I had to do EVERYTHING and also bring ourown medical supplies, not to metion bathe him and wash his sheets.

I'm so glad to be back home, it's been so long that it took me whole day to read all the posts! (intermitently of course).

TAMMYJ - When are you leaving for PR and where are you going?

LARALYNN86- Be careful not to get dehydrated. Your goal to drink enough Water is a great one! How is it going? I got kidney stones a couple of weeks after surgery - the doc says that dehydration could have played a part. Also - I reccomend Isopure for Protein. I hate all the drinks, they are sooooo gross but when I was on liquid I LIVED on Isopure, it's sortof like gatorade, I found it at my local healthfood store.

KYETHRA - How are you feeling after your fill?

I had my first fill today, doc said liquids for today and I can go back to solids tomorrow. I already feel some restriction, he injected 1.5 into my 4 band.

I'm so glad to see that everyone is doing so well! I like to come here for encouragement and I haven't been dissapointed yet!!

It seems that along with the 2lbs that I lost in PR, I am also having a NSV. I've noticed that although I haven't lost any weight in the past few weeks (other than the 2lbs mentioned above). BUT my pants are falling off my butt?!?!?! My bra size went from a 44DD to a 42DD too!

Wecome back Nikki

Sorry to hear about your Dad, hope everything is OK now. What a differance in health care, makes us really apprieciate what we have here, and we still tend to gripe everyonce and a while.

Thats a great NSV.Have you taken your measurments at all, since the surgery???? I am set to do my this weekend. There are so many ways we can measure oour progress beside that old scale.I am down 3 sizes since surgery, even though I would like the scale to say I have lost more. Keep up the good work and hopefully life will get back to normal now that you are back.

Mary, I know what your saying about eating Cookies doritos and such. I have really good restriction now. Yes, a lot of Pbing episodes. But I am so amazed how junk food slides down easily. :)

Once you have restriction though, it really makes you aware of what your putting in your mouth. I am constantly worried about the Protein. I am eating tofu, it is kinda growing on me. My daughter is 6 and adopted from China so she is thrilled with the tofu in the house, our 3 teen boys, not so much. :)

I don't want to just live on Soups, shakes, smooth things.

I need to get more creative with eating.

Anyone with good restriction have any advice on how to put some pizazz in the foods we can eat from now on?

I am now eating about 1/2 cup a meal. How often do you guys eat? How much and how many times a day?

I said to my doctor before my fill, "I don't think I even have a lap band. I ate fajitas at Bennigan's no problem ." He said Really, will see about fixing that.

Holy Toledo me and my big mouth, No seriously though, I love my band because I finally feel like it has been activated.

When you have restriction, there are no bones about it you will know!!

Tia

You crack me up! Good to know the ChaCha is in plain view again!

I can't tell if my hair is thinning or not. I always have a bunch in the drain and on the brush...but it's getting long, so is it more hairs or the same amount but longer? I figure if I really can't tell then there really isn't a problem. But I do fret sometimes. Aside from taking Biotin I can't do much else, I eat tons of Protein.

Tia, what does your surgeon say you should be eating? Like how much? Do they have a nutrition plan for you? Do you take a multi Vitamin?

Have a great day everyone!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
