Too tight! Now in pain!

Recommended Posts

I got a fill last Thursday and was in terrible pain starting on Sat. Couldn't eat, sleep and even fluids wouldn't go down. Went in yesterday to get Fluid out. Well, I can now swallow but can't sleep due to the tremendous acid reflux. I am guessing there is swelling due to all of the vomiting.

Has anyone else had this? I am going to call dr. This morning but is it something that normally just needs to be waited out or is there something that you have taken that has helped in the past. I am not asking for medical advise just someone to put my fears at rest, at least a little. I,am so afraid all of the stress from this weekend did irreparable damage! Help!

You just have to wait it out and give your body time to heal. I was too tight, but not THAT tight when I had Fluid removed in December. I go back to him today, and I'm going to ask for something between what I was before and where I am now.

Good luck!

@@Deedee13 it's a very good idea to give your Dr. a call and let them know how uncomfortable you are and that you are still experiencing acid re-flux at night. There are medications they can give you to help with all of these things and to help guard the stomach while you are healing.

The last thing you want is to leave it, you will continue to be uncomfortable and could cause other severe issues like erosion.

I have had these issues before and cause not only swelling but irritation to my stomach that was revealed on a endoscopy exam. I am no on preventive medication so that this does not happen again.

Let us know how you are doing OK?

I tried going to work today and they sent me home. Called the dr. And asked if there was a OTC or prescription he could give me dr the reflux. He explained to me it is all the band and it must still be too tight and he wanted me in as soon as possible. Feel much better but the true tet will be trying to sleep tonight! Thanks for your advice.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
