Ugh my periods are out of control!

Hello everyone! So right now I'm preop - if everything goes as planned I should be sleeved in May or June.

So here's my dilemma - for the last 6 months, my periods have been out of control. For the first 4 months, I was off the pill, So in December, I decided to go back on the pill (I'm on low dose because of my hypertension) to see if that would help. It seems to have made it worse. This month I've been "red" for 9 days now...I've never had these kinds of issues. Not only am I "Seeing red" but I have cramps from hell and its like Niagara falls!

Will this get better after surgery? It's making me miserable. Not only that, it's embarrassing at work to run to the bathroom every two hours and live in fear that I've stained my pants. I'm at super absorbency tampons + a pad...I'm feeling like I'm 12 again! :(

Side note - I am also hypothyroid - controlled with meds and pending results of another test - so I don't know if this has anything to do with it.

I have had problems with heavy flows and seemingly endless periods and my Dr. Put me on nuvaring instead of the pill. Now I barely bleed and when I do, it is just a few drops that I can use a super thin pad to catch. Hope your insurance covers it, but you can ask your dr about it.
