Weight loss has stopped - HELP !

Recommended Posts

I had my sleeve on 12/26/14 - Merry Christmas me! I am almost a month out - about to start soft foods this weekend - lost 15 pounds but am stuck here for the last week! What the heck!?! I am nervous I am not going to drop more weight and I keep thinking about food! How many calories should I be at? How much walking?

Advice? Please? Thank you!

Use the search engine here or even just Google "three week stall" -- you'll see, what you are going through is almost universal. Virtually everyone pauses in their weight loss somewhere around the third week out. You are right on track. Keep following your program and put the scale away for at least the next few weeks or it will make you crazy. Relax, you are normal!

Ditto, three week stall, it's your body adjusting to all the changes. Mine lasted 2 weeks, but haven't hit any since.

Ive had two stalls. Sleeved 11/11. First one lasted two weeks and the second about ten days. Down 37 pounds and four sizes. Follow the rules. You'll be fine.

Congratulations! You have reached The Dreaded Week-3 Stall. It's perfectly normal, and just about all of us have suffered through it. You're not crazy, and your doctor didn't screw up. In fact, you might not lose any weight for two weeks or even longer. But don't worry – after that, the weight will start falling off if you stick to your program. And, the inches will continue to come off even while the scale isn't budging. Here's a good article that explains why it happens and why we all have to go through it. Hang in there. Pretty soon it'll be in the rear-view mirror and you'll be dropping weight again!

(Apologies to BP regulars who have seen this repeatedly, but it's a big deal to those who are going through it!)

I also stalled but at about 4-5 weeks only for about 5 days. I was told to drink drink drink. I was not drinking enough Water. My doctor told me to weigh everyday!! That will keep you on track and it does. If I don't drop a lb that day then I know it was because I drank less water the day before. I weigh every morning. I'm 7 weeks post op and down a total of 67 lbs. following my pre op diet I had lost 30 and post op so far 36.

Good luck and keep focused on the WATER.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
