Brought my tennis shoes to work with me so I can take it up a notch on the exercise.

I had a frustrating kind of morning today. I know some of you will think wow, she's being too OCD but that's just me. I've been battling the yo-yoing of 4 stubborn lbs for 2 months now and it's driving me crazy. Yeah I know big deal 4lbs but for me it isn't about the 4lbs its the fear that it will keep creeping and creeping so I want to get it under control now. I had lost 1.5lbs of that since getting back on track with my Water so this morning when I weighed myself it went back up exactly that 1.5lbs. So frustrating especially when I know I'm doing everything possible, tracking calories and Water which are on point and added exercise which I haven't done at all throughout my weight-loss.

The only other thing I can think of is I need to add in more unprocessed protein. So for me and my busy schedule it's easy to grab a Protein Bar for lunch a weight watchers or deli turkey for dinner but maybe this is where the problem lies?? What are your opinions?

My goals for today are:

Get over the # on the scale! Don't let it steal my joy!

Actually cook dinner with fresh unprocessed Protein.

Grab a salad with grilled chicken for lunch vs. eating the turkey meat I brought with me to work

Get my water in

Exercise- 30 day Shred and add in stairs

Let's rock it!

@@enjoythetime - could it be muscle gain due to the shred workouts? I know your frustration, but we also know it will come off. Hang tough!

@@bacon - I'm thinking about my WI's too. Can't decide if I want to do weekly at home or wait for monthly doc visits. After all my years, I still like a monthly doc visit. There's just something about going there, having the house with my chart, etc. I believe whatever works for YOU is best!

Another snow day here. I think we're going to venture out to meet my husband for lunch. We don't eat out often, so this will be a nice treat. It's always hard for me to guesstimate my calories, Protein, etc, but also know an occasional meal out seems to boost my metabolism too. I've already done a 2 mile walking video and will get in a 3 mile tonight.

Have a dandy day!

Battling head hunger with a little stomach hunger right now at work. Aaagghh. I'm on liquids until dinner tonight due to a fill Tuesday. I had Soup for Breakfast and will have a Protein Shake for lunch but it's too early. I suppose I could have an extra Protein shake now. 100 calories. I'm drinking Water and tea. I'll try to hold off until 11am. 10:30 is too early for lunch. Grr.

We could not leave the house for the last 2 days. I stepped out to feed the dogs and run the snow blower. No outside exercise. I did map out a course that is close for future running activities. It has thrilled me to see my sons not ask for pop but rather to ask for Water since that is what daddy drinks. Meals were good. Plenty of Protein and water. 1 hr 6 min on the elliptical. Hope everyone killed it today!!

Exercise, check! We got a five mile walking video done. Whew!

Not sure about food. We met my husband for lunch. I took it easy and left food on my plate. Everything is documented in my fitness pal. Since I ate out, I increased Water to 96 oz. to compensate for added sodium. I'll probably do the same tomorrow. I love the splurge of eating out, but hate the not knowing (calories, ingredients, etc) part of it.

Sounds like everybody is making it happen today!

I had a cup of chili at 11am and then chicken strips for dinner. 1700 calories and 8 flights of stairs. Knees better but not back up to speed yet. Not bad.

Ok so I hit half of my goals.

Exercise 18 flights of stairs, no shred tonight

lunch grilled chix salad

S: Protein Bar

85oz Water

Yogurt with trail mix for breakfast and dinner

snack skinny cow ice cream

Total calories 1020

So all in all not bad.

Started snowing today and took me 3x as long to get home. Excuses I know but life happens right.

Sounds like everyone is holding their own AND helping one another out. Great group!!

@bacon. I asked my doc about not eating breakfast since I'm just not hungry then and she wanted me to drink a Protein Drink or at least half of one. I really haven't found one that i like so today I just added half of one to my coffee. Tasted pretty good!

Well I just could not stay off the scale 274. That is 8 pounds in 2 weeks. But more importantly, I haven't binged in 2 weeks. Praise the Lord!

Happy Friday Everyone!

On this cold and snowy Friday in Missouri my day will go something like this

Calories would like to keep them at 1200 or less

80oz of Water

Exercise- Stairs for sure- exercise video depends on how long it takes me to get home!!

I do have a question Can anyone tell me how much Protein is "too much", is there such a thing? The reason I ask is I was telling my Dr. that I get 60-80g in per day more towards 80 and she said if you find yourself wanting to lose more bump up your Protein but she didn't tell me by how much. I was wondering if there's a DO NOT EXCEED???:-)

Thanks and I hope everyone has an awesome day!

Sounds like we're all rocking this thing today!!

@@bacon - no binge is HUGE!!! The loss is your reward. Keep it up!

@@enjoythetime - not sure about too much Protein. My doc doesn't care if I eat nothing but Protein, so I'm not sure there is a ceiling because we banders can only eat so much anyway.

Meals planned, half of my exercise this morning and the other half this evening with the family, Water will be at 96 oz today. I'm getting it done here too!!!

Check back in with you guys later...

Have a dandy day!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
