Out of pocket expense?

Recommended Posts

Mine will be 2,700. That includes 2 years of after care with the surgeon, nut, psych, and fitness chica. I enrolled in FSA to help pay for it.

$14,500 self pay... includes all pre-op appts and post-op appts for ONE YEAR.

Yes, please be happy your insurance is paying for a large portion. My hubby's will be covered because he's over 35 BMI, but I was under 35 BMI so I had to self pay. WORTH IT!!!!!

While I am grateful to have some insurance coverage, it isn't great. I will hit my "out of pocket maximum" of $7500 plus any non-covered expense. Again, I am just glad that it looks like I should qualify and will get my sleeve in April.

I have Aetna and my out-of-pocket is $500 deductible + 20% of costs, up to $2000. The most I'll have to pay is $2000, which doesn't seem bad, although I wouldn't mind just a $250 copay.

The surgeon's office is also charging a $350 administrative fee that is not covered by insurance.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
