Mine was about 600 for the entire thing. My actual bill before insurance paid was 39,000+ so I know it may seem like a lot to you but it's nothing compared to out of pocket and some people Pay that. Be thankful! Good luck on your journey!

That's about right. Other than my copays everything was covered except for $200 for the nutrition class and $400 copay day of surgery.

Mine sounds pretty close to everyone else. Aside for my co-pays to my surgeon each month, I had to pay a one-time program fee of $500 which covered 2 visits to my nut, my psych eval, and 10 visits to the hospital fitness center whenever I chose to use them. It also covered my first 3 months of surgeon office visits post-op.

My insurance paid 100% of everything else.

Do you find out after your approval from insurance what your out of pocket expense will be? I heard people talking numbers at their consult..... What was your experience?

My first consult meeting from my surgeon he told me his cost to me would be $300, and that was all. Insurance pretty much covered everything minus my regular copays ($60 for hospital admission, $20 for specialists/doctors, etc.). I started the process in May. I then postponed it, resumed back in October, got a surgery date for the end of November, and didn't hear until the week before surgery that I was actually approved. :)

Most programs can tell you from experience what your OOP will be however, you can call your insurance company and check so there are no surprises. Also most hospitals call a few days prior to admission and alert you to any copays related to surgery. If your insurance company has a website they usually have their fee schedule included. Unless you have lots of disposable income it's best to know beforehand. A few hundred may be easy to come by, a few grand may not.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
