The sleeve. And my journey

Hi my name is Carol and I had my bypass sleeve surgery Dec 16, 2014. Very hard for me during Christmas. I am 44 married and a mother of 5. With 4 beautiful grandchildren. My kids are grown well physically anyways. OK back to my story. To start out with I was 270 lb in June 2014. I have Lupus and other smaller things. The Lupus is what helped me to decide to have surgery. I get flare ups in my hips and can't walk (carry my weight) I'm only 5'2. So I started in June. My insurance required me to go through all kinds of stuff as you all know.6 months of doctors visits, nutritionist, mental evaluation. Passed. Before surgery in June I went down 257. I did go down before the big day. I am the soul of my family it's been so hard these weeks. Im learning so many new things. I am the cook, the party organizer, I am the back to this family. So hard but I'm now 233. And starting to feel good about myself. I love my family but now I'm to the point where it's fin for ya'lls self. Hahahaha. One really important thing that i have learned in these few weeks is its my turn to take care of ME. I love myself. I'm happy to be apart of your group. Thank you

Yes holidays sucked. I wanted so much to eat all the food like I use to. I was on soft food by then so I could blend the ham up. And I ate a bite of potato and a bite of green bean casserole n a bite of ham them 3 bite made me so full I thought I was going to puke. I had to take a nap after lol..

Me to. For Christmas eve I had protein drink and a bite of homemade mac and cheese. Christmas day was hard like you said big plate. But nope clear liquids all day. But I love the new me. I'm still not eating very many soft foods. I'm still with a lot of soups and broths. I get full fast. Like 2 bites.

I'm in Arkansas. Yes I'm glad holidays are over for now. I am getting maybe 5 bites that are small down any more then that and my new stomach says nope I'm gonna pop.. So I stick to small bites. And I'm good for most of the day. Also finding I want something n then I get it and by time I get it I've done changed my mind.
