oh man I was that part about the lactose intolerance were true for me .... I can't touch anything with lactose beyond cottage cheese without having to visit the bathroom 2-3 hours later ... same goes true for whey Protein shakes ... the milk Proteins in those kill me if I don't take some chewable lactaid prior to the Protein Shakes ... not fun.

10 months out and I still can't tolerate eggs! I used to LOVE eggs - omelettes, deviled, scrambled w/cheese.. etc

Now it is the only thing I can't eat. I am actually less lactose intolerant since the surgery than I was before.

Go figure!

I am on pureed now and eggs are the only thing that sit well. I am eating two daily. If I was allowed, I would eat only eggs. I tried scrambled first day but it was too dry, since then I am eating boiled. Tomorrow I am going to try omelet.

Yup... we're all different and are going to tolerate (or not) different foods at different times. I'm closing in on a year out from surgery and can pretty much eat anything now, but the very first soft food I tried was a scrambled egg once I got permission from my doc, and it came right back up and was my first (of MANY) experience with the dreaded "slimies".

It'll get better, I promise-- wait a while and give it another go!

Good luck to you!

Cheers,

~Pat

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
