How much liquid could you hold day of surgery?

I have perhaps been able to drink about 3 oz since post op today. That's 7 hrs. I constantly feel on the edge of looking it. I'm terrified of puking. But don't know what to do help

@ Ok so was your surgery today? If it was do you still have an IV going? If you have an IV you Are also getting fluids that way, if not you defiantly need to get some more fluids in. Just take your time don't rush it but take continuous baby sips . Time them if you need to but stay on top of that fluid. Of course if you start to feel sick take a break. Good luck!

I don't think I got in much. I did a lot of ice chips and 2 pouches of the prosource no carb. They are 1 ounce/15gms of protein. By the next day I was doing better. I sipped some water and did probably 2 pouches and a sip or 2 of veg broth. 3 ounces is not bad for the day of surgery.

I was sleeved at 10 am and was only permitted ice chips until about noon the next. That day i had about 5oz and was permitted to leave after having another 5 the following morning. 3oz the day of doesnt sound terrible to me! I haven't puked. Just take your time. Dont rush it just do your best!
