Got my date: January 21st

I am once again excited as I was yesterday when I received the approval. The Insurance coordinator called me this afternoon and gave me the date of January 21st. All of a sudden, I am so nervous.

Any other January 21st sleeves? I would love to support each other during this process!

Good Luck to you.

It is really exciting to have so many upcoming sleevers around the same time.

I'm the 19th! So good to see others close to my date...so excited!

Hi! This is my first post, but I've been on this site for a couple of months reading in preparation for the sleeve surgery.

My date is also January 21st and I started my preop on January 7th. I have my preop appointment this coming Tuesday!!

I'm nervous, but also excited at the same time.

Good luck everyone!!

I am so upset I was scheduled for Jan. 21, 2015 at the Kaiser in Richmond Ca. I just received an email that the surgery has been cancelled for that day due to a strike. I cant believe my luck They say to call on Monday to reschedule It took me over a month to get this date so I guess I"ll probably have to wait till the end of February now.

Hello all! I am new to this site and I just got my papers submitted to insurance last week. How long did it take to get the approval after your documents were submitted? Does anyone have UMR or State employee insurance that can shed some light on this process?

so sorry to hear that. Sometimes things happen for a reason. Best wishes!

Every insurance company is different. My approval came in between the Christmas Holiday. My paperwork was submitted on Dec. 16th and my insurance coordinator at the doctor's office called me on Dec. 29th to give me the great news. I'm not sure how many days in between those 13 days that it actually took since the holiday played a role in the short week for the doctor office.

We are identical. My pre-surgery appointment is tomorrow. I have plateaued out with the pre-op diet. I was loosing 1 lb a day up until this past Saturday. I still have a few lbs. left and now I'm really nervous.

Congratulations!!!!!

@@Fatdiva14 do you have a set amount of weight you need to lose before the surgery? I've been on the pre op diet since Jan. 7th and am down a little over 7 lbs. I was told to lose weight, but not given a number.

I'm excited because today I spoke to the registered nurse w/my Insurance company who approved the surgery!! I'm so happy cause you never how that will go!

I can't believe it's just over a week to go!! So nervous, too!

We can do this!!!!

I am so happy for you and hope I can be as lucky! Thank you for sharing your good news as this gives me hope that the process can go quickly! Was this your first time applying for authorization?

Yes, this was the first approval. I don't know if I could've endured a denial.

I was told to loose 10 lbs before the surgery. The whole six months of nutrional classes my weight was fluctuated. At first it was stagnant then it climbed dropped and climbed again. I started the pre-op diet a week early to give me a head start, and lost 8lbs. Now I am back at 232...long pause, 'cause now the scale isn't moving anymore. I have 8-10 more to go. I increased my water intake today to see if that will make a difference. Fingers X.
