First day after surgery

Hello, everyone. It's taken me two years to decide if I should have wls, and here I am, one day after lap band/stomach plication surgery. I'm sore, but not as sore as I thought I would be. No shoulder pain either as a side effect, so everything is good so far. I have to say I was about ready to jump ship before they took me into surgery because of fear. Glad to be on the other side of it. Any advice?

Congratulations !! Stay off the scale. Wait until your post op appointment to weigh. The reason is that most of us gain right after surgery from fluids and swelling. Also, walk a lot. It will help everything. Stay connected here and if anything feels worse rather than better day by day, call your doc right away.

Wow, Justwatchme, I'm impressed by how much weight you've lost since March! That's exciting! You've got things figured out with your band. Thanks for the advice too.

It's nice to hear that post op is not that bad. My excitement is building as my surgery date is Jan 8th. Thanks for the post. It's nice to read other people's experiences. Good luck with the next step in your journey:)
