I'm Jaysen, hi everyone!!!! So glad to have found this forum as I begin this change in my life..

I'm waiting to get my new ID card from my new BCBS insurance company, so nothing in the works yet with a plan on getting skinny LOL the surgeons first available appointment isn't until February 6th so I guess I'll just keep reading all of your trials and tribulations ???? I'm definitely reading tons and researching all I can find. Any advice that can be given please feel free to give ???? I really appreciate it..

Question- someone I know who's in her 2 year of having had RNY mentioned to me that I should act like everything is fine in psych evaluation, so I don't have to go through any major appointments with them. Now I know I've got to tell the truth and let the Doctors do their jobs with evaluation, but does anyone wish they'd said or done anything different to make surgery happen faster? If even possible of course.. I guess ultimately I don't need to skip over anything cause I obviously need the help!!!!

HI first of all congrats on your choice in being healthy, I would like to suggest being honest, you have already faced being honest with yourself that you need help with losing weight. Trust me you are going to learn alot more about yourself going through this process, I know that I did. I have learned to love me for me and to be honest that I allow convience and stress lead to my bad choices. Use this time wisely and learn everything you can, if your program offers support groups attend them you will learn alot from like minded people who are going through this procedure and who has completed it. Please keep us posted on your progress we are here for you.

Thank you so much for the welcome and great advice.. I've always been the one to skip a few details to make it a little easier, now look at me 330 pounds and rising ???? I wasn't an over weight child or adolescent, my early 20's was the onset of it all. I went from party boy at the club to a relationship that I'm still gladly in, buying a house a year after that and opening my own salon business all in 2yrs time. I started off drinking way to much and a little to much good food, then realized I didn't like drunk me so I then turned to food.. So I just transferred from one addiction to another ???? hey at least I see it right!? Thanks again for advice and yes I will keep posting here

Be honest.

Sadly, I didn't have to go through the pysch part. I wish that option had been required, not mainly for the weight part, but because of all the extra mental & emotional stress I went through after my surgery.

What kind of emotional and mental stress did you notice the most? Thank you for your response.

Feeling insulted when others stated it was so easy for me to loose weight because I had the bypass. It was not easy, I went through hades before and after surgery; my med probs didn't go away instead I ended up with more; then there were personal problems, the loss of 4 family members close together.

Finding a doc to help assist recovering from all that is hard because they came in after the surgery, so they are only seeing me after everything has occurred. They have not seen what I use to be like. There is a huge difference, I don't regret my surgery because I needed that help. But I believe they could have helped me had they been involved from the start.

Hope that makes sense. And helps.

Yes it totally does!!!! Do you feel like a stronger even better you having gone through so much change? If that's even the correct way to label what you went through!! So sorry for all of your loss!!!!! I couldn't imagine losing 4loved ones close together!!! Had you lost the weight already or in middle of your journey when that started to happen? And if that's to personal please don't feel like you have to respond ????

I have to agree being aware of the issue is a great start. Yes doing fur kids all day is a mix of salon and party city all day :0) pink poodles and I even bedazzle a few poms. I kid you not!

I started at 330 and on just the pre op diet am down to 300. My Gf is so upset to loose her cook and baker to this diet!

I bet, so festive and cheerful ????

Congratulations on the 30lbs.. What motivation that must be for you!!!! My man and our son will have to adjust eventually to our new way of eating soon enough, our little one is 4.5 and will be fine, my 38 yr old is a different story lol... He's been on countless diets with me, and I'm usually the one to falter first ????

You just want to make sure he doesn't end up going through what you have. Don't feel bad for stating that, our children learn from our behavior and actions.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
