how long is the Gastric Sleeve surgery ?

How long did your surgery take? My mother asked the PA and she said about 3 hours. I'm guessing that's worst case scenario, cause I keep reading different amounts of time.

Wow 2 to 3 hours is alot my sleeve was done in 1hr including gallbladder removal.

Mine was under an hour, about 45 minutes.

My time in the surgical OR was 66 minutes. The nurse reiterated it over and over again. I was in recovery for about 90 minutes then in my room. Discharged the next afternoon.

I think the recovery after surgery is what takes the longest!

. Wow! That's good to know! Thanks for sharing! Love your name! I am anxious, because my surgery is coming up soon on June 29th.

Sleeveking, mine too! My surgeon did it in 45 minutes and my recovery was 2 hours. I was discharged that afternoon when I could walk, pee, and pass the swallow test/upper GI xray.

It took me 2 hrs then 1 hr in recovery

I was told that the actual VSG surgery is approx. 1 hour. If hernia repair is required add 30 mins.

Recovery is 1 hour. If you use CPAP, they may add an hour (depends on your breathing and O2 levels).

So, from when you are taken to the OR, from when your family can see you varies between 2 hours and 3-4 hours.

2 1/2 hrs for me. They fixed a hernia too. Two days in now. Pain increasing but taking Tylenol and tramerol. Walking and drinking but nothing moving yet. Passed leak test. Home tomorrow

I was in for 3 hours because I also had my gall bladder removed.

Dr. Ortiz told us yesterday a straight forward sleeve is 30 minutes! I was in recovery for 1.5 hours.
