Hey everyone!

I've not been riding much, but I sure miss you all. I'm putting a new seat on so hopefully that will be some encouragement. I've been riding the bike at the gym, but we all know that isn't the same!!!!

J- you've mentioned before that you tend to gravitate to the gym because it takes less time. I know what you mean. It's so much easier than the time it takes to ride outdoors. I've been doing more on the treadmill as well which is good, but it's just not as satisfying as the bike.

I suck. I wimp out too easy...especially when it's hot. Help me!!!!!

DONT BE SO HARD ON YOUR SELF!!! GYM OR OUTDOORS...DOES IT REALLY MATTER??? NOOOOOO

U ARE STILL DOING MORE THAN YOU WERE, 3,4, 6 MONTHS AGO.....KEEP THAT HEAD UP...AND HAVE SOME FUN WITH IT....

AND YOU KNOW I AGREE...IT DOES TAKE ALLOT OF TIME TO GET THE BIKE WHERE WE NEED TO GO.....

THAT IS WHY I CANT RIDE EVERY NITE...I WOULD GO NUTS!!!!

Thanks HP

You and D are so amazing! I'm jealous! I'll get this right at some point I'm sure. I'm fighting with my band...trying to get used to it, figuring out how it works and all that. So far, I'm able to defeat it...but I'm starting to "get the message". My brain is having trouble catching up to the 'full' signals. I'll get it. Someday I'll be just like you guys!

You all are so far ahead of me in this that you all don't even talk about your bands much anymore! LOL

C,

Yikes I left you off the list. I'm sorry. I knew I was going to forget someone. It's because you are so quiet these days.

I'm sorry.

You all this is Turler=C=Carol. She's an Ohioan too.

And yeah, we don't talk much about having the band in as much as we are kind of used to living with them...but not a day goes by that I forget it's there...Oh there are times I wish I could. But that's how I got big in the first place, but not paying attention to what I was doing to myself.

Anyway, post all you can. We've missed you.

D. Remember I promised you I'd go to the gym?

Yeah. I worked 3:30p-12a and went to the gym right after work. Worked out from 12:20-1a. Not too bad... just trying to get back in the swing of it. Did elliptical and some weights. I totally need to work on my fat flabby arms!!

Anyway. I didn't get pics cause I really didn't think of it, but I promise I went.

And can you imagine that at midnight on a Wednesday night/Thursday morning I was the ONLY one in the gym? Lol I love it.

I rode on the trainer for the first time today. I didn't like it. It was hotter than dammmmmit outside so it was the only way to get on the bike. I rode for 15 minutes of so and decided to hit the weights instead. I lifted pretty heavy today. I'm trying to keep a lot of my muscle mass and just loose the fat. Times in the past that I lost a lot of weight I lost a lot of muscle too and I don't want to do that this time. I want to be a stud when I grow up.

I finally got back on my bike last night. It cooled way down and wasn't so miserable to be out there. I went all the way to the park which is further than I've gone before. But, OH MY KNEES!! They are killing me. I got the bike because of my bad knee (left is bone on bone) and it didn't hurt. Now it hurts terribly and the other knee is starting. It's not the down push on the pedalling either, it's when the knee is up the highest and bent. I've tried raising my seat but it's about as high as it goes (I'm 5'9") that I can hardly swing my leg over to get on and off or touch the ground from my seat. any suggestions? Today I can hardly walk.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
