I am having a time with this whole thing, but I will get over it, as soon as I find out where you live and come and steal your bike!!!!!! It really looks nice!!Definitely let us know when you get it!!!;):D(this is me, green with jealousy)

Oh I hate this damn site.

Okay, kleptomaniac Deanna, you keep your grubby hands off of my scale and Slack's super fancy awesome road bike. (I looked it up too, and WOW! Very nice.)

So it's official this is a plateau, it's been 2 weeks since I've moved off of this number in any real way. When I weigh my self in the morning it says one thing, lunch time it goes up, by dinner it's even higher and before bed I think I should explode. (Ha, ha, Deanna pop your eye back into your head, I don't weight myself like that!) But the two weeks plateau is nuts considering I've biked a good 175 miles in that time and have done other workouts too. I've eaten more, but I have burned way more than I've consumed. There was also the TOM in that 2 week period....

Bitch ass bitches, is all I've got to say.

I know it will move, it always does and there are no alternatives to just keeping on. So I shall just keep on.

I'm missing BG and JC.

Oh, btw, Slack-JC's a dude and quite the motivation too. Where you at, Slack? Tell us all about your fancy new bike. How did you pick it out? Do you ride at all, yet? We want to know.

J, how right you are about my eyeballs popping out of my head!!!!! Well, maybe it is time for a fill???? I know I lost 9.5 when I went in and I told them how much I exercise and I am hungry pretty much all of the time. The RN said, it was time to let the band do some of the work now. I got 3 cc's. I have been eating very slowlyy now. Today is my first day back on regular foods.

I know that I truly thought I would be the "special" one, without any fills and still losing 20 pounds a month. The EP told me that if I was to keep losing 20 pounds a month, I would be losing a lot of muscle too. 1-3 pounds in the exact right amount for maximum fat burning. SOOO that being said, I am going to have to be happy with the 9.5 pounds a month. Not only does the pounds coming off not matter, as long as I am not gaining, but all this muscle I am getting from riding and strength training is making me smaller. I havea waist again. Not the one that I want, but a waist indeed.

I too miss JC and BG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I hope they are having fun and keeping up with their exercise!!!

I found that bike at direct bike outlet??? I can't remember now, what the name of it was, but they have some bikes on there for around $400.........hhhmmmmmm, I never heard of any of these brands, but that doesn't mean anything!!!! Now I am seriously contemplating this!!!!

I see my surgeon September 17th. In theory I should be 20 pounds lighter than the last time I saw him. Which I find hard to imagine.

But we'll see what happens between now and then.

Glad to see you're able to get some food down D.

I think it is going to take a lot more than this band to keep me from eating my food. I LOVE FOOD!!! Of course not as much as I used to, but I still love it!!!

It took me a good 20-30 minutes but I did finish it. I chewed really reallllllllllllllly good. I do NOT want to get stuck..I hate it!!(lip out, quivering).....

Deanna-

settle down there....

I know real life is getting in the way of all sorts of things...DD swimming lessons take up my evenings and believe it or not, work and home work take up my 40 hours at my desk.

I do try to check in. Sorry I suck.

IM HUNGRY.

Today was a 1500 calorie day and only 45 minutes of exercise.I'm going out of my mind....and it's carbs that I want. I'm not in the ANIT carb camp, I'm in the lower carb camp, but heaven help me I want crackers and Cookies and granola...I can live with out Pasta, bread and chips...but the evil little crackers call my name.

Soooooo, tomorrow night I was going to go on a small group ride, but instead I'm running out right after work to do two hours on the bike. I have to be on line at 7 for a class...I should be able to get in a few miles but this real life stuff is pissing me off. I want to exercise and talk lapband with my buds.

grumble, grumble...

Hello everyone.

I am having a piss ass day too. My husband and I rode this evening after I worked 11 hours today, and we only rode 5.80 miles(in 34 min) It was getting dark, and we pulled 3 decent size hills, and I felt real good that I was able to get up the hills this time. I was averaging on the straight road between 11-13(which is up from before).

When we got to the truck my husband who has a road bike, goes well...now you just need to triple that for the ride on the 5th. He said that I cant excpect to ride 20 if I am only riding 6 now.

Well you know what!!!

1. I have been riding now since Mid May. I also just got the new bike 1 week ago.

2. I am also about 75 lbs heavier than he is and NO I AM NOT AS CONDITIONED....BUT I AM TRYING!!!!!

3. I WOULD NOT OF BEEN ABLE TO DO THIS 40-50 LBS HEAVIER( LIKE i WAS 2-3 MONTHS AGO.

Now I know I just may be over sensitive here....but with the small amount of time we have to ride in the evenings, and I only have this weekend and next week to get ready...maybe I am not ready for this ride???????

I dont know what to do......

I just feel like I get tired sooner than I should and have to pull off to catch my breath, and take some Water in....Am I totally in over my head?????

Ok, thanks for listening...

Well, first of all he could be more supportive...I edited that a few times...

And you can hit 20 or you could try really hard and miss it by a few. But the thing is to try. Don't worry about not meeting the goal. Just keep banging away at it. If you don't try the one thing you can know is that you never will.

So, tell him to kiss your ass and then tell him to kiss mine. And then tell him that it's not about winning it's about giving it the best you've got to give. And if he can't encourage you he can shut up. And if he thinks pointing out the obvious is encouraging then he needs to be told exactly what you want to hear. This now is where you give him a script.

What would be the most encouraging thing he could say to you?

And between you and me I went from doing under 10 to doing 20 in one fell swoop. I was wiped out for the rest of the day, but I did it. Try this weekend to do some miles on Saturday and Sunday.

We got your back. (And hope that wasn't too harsh on your man.)

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
