Carbonated drinks?

I was told no carbonated drinks after the sleeve. Is this true? I am very early in this process.

Yup, my surgeon told me a tell tale sign of people gaining their weight back after surgery is they start drinking sodas and beer again (diet or otherwise). It stretches the pouch.

Oh, and I'm editing to add I quit smoking 6 months ago for my surgery, and quitting diet soda was by far harder :P

today is Day 1 of me going cold turkey off of diet Pepsi..I'm making it but I really wanted some when I got home from work so I dumped it so it wouldn't bother me so bad.

Have not had soda in a year and it has not bothered me in the least. I did try a sip of diet soda to see the effect and it just made me feel gassy. I just lay off it since it has no nutritional value and I want my kids to avoid the addiction to soda pop.

I won't touch it. My sister had bypass and didn't give it up... She gained all of her weight back. Stretched her stomach back out. Dr. Said that was why! So no no no carbonation fory sleeved tummy.
