Just checking in with you to see if you've heard anything back yet for approval. I know it may take long, but some folks on this forum talk about the quick turnaround they experienced.

They submitted to my insurance last Friday. It's been two days for me if you don't count the weekend. I'm just so anxious I don't know what to do with myself.

Unfortunately the Psych doctor is holding me up. I wish I would have chosen a different doctor for that. He has never done this kind of eval before and even though I gave him a document from my surgeon that outlines all he needs to do, he still has questions. SMH! But I saw him today and told him that he is the last part needed and that we were trying to submit by the end of the week. Hopefully that will get him going. Still praying for a January date.

I pray you get your date soon!! Keep us posted!

Oh boy...

Well I haven't heard anything yet, and the issue I had with the bacteria in my stomach from the endoscopic exam is stressing me out. Since I am allergic to penicillin and the antibiotic cocktail I was put on back in October didn't work, it has now prompted my doctor to look for an alternative. She finally found one, called it into CVS (who told her they had to order it). I happened to call CVS yesterday and they told me that they couldn't order it. So now I have to wait until the doctor calls the prescription in at the Providence where she practices. I have to take the antibiotics for 7 days and then wait four weeks before taking the ballon test again to ensure the bacteria is gone. It is bugging me out because I keep thinking if the approval comes through this week, and they give me a date...it will end up being postponed until the bacteria is eradicated out of my stomach. Urghhhhh!????

Oh noo! Well I pray this works and you can move forward! How are you feeling? It sucks that you would have to wait an additional 4 weeks!

I feel fine. I didn't even know I had the bacteria that could create ulcers...but it has to be killed off before I can have the surgery. I'll get there. The doctor called this evening and assured me she called the prescription in to the Providence hospital pharmacy. I'm gonna go pick it up tomorrow.

How are you doing? This waiting game is driving me crazy. Hopefully we get our approval soon!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
