Ok saw my actual surgeon for first time and I am scheduled for EGD tomorrow. So we will see. I'm tolerating fluids a lot better today. So antibiotics and other meds must be working as they are treating that h pylori

I signed in to specifically check on you. I read your post last night but didn't have time to respond. I am so, so sorry to hear you are going through this. I, too,was diagnosed with H. pylori prior to surgery and treated for three weeks with antibiotics, I had no symptoms.

Hopefully, from this day forward things only get better. You will be in my prayers.

My surgeon required endoscopy with H Pylori test before I could get approved for surgery. Sorry you are having to go through this now.

I'm praying for your healing. I am so glad now that my insurance didn't pay for my surgery and thus I went to Texas to Dr. Nicholson. Tampa General Bariatric Center is a joke. After reading this thread, I remembered that when I met with the surgeon that the walls were so thin that my husband and I could hear every single word of the patient in the next room, which of course is a privacy issue, when I mentioned it to the nurse she said that they were having the walls "redone" because the contractor cut corners to save money. Well it was newly finished! They took my deposit, didn't check my insurance, stiffed me... the staff was horrible, particularly the administration staff. Sorry to be "off topic" slightly, but I feel like the Lord saved me from going to this place. Sounds like they don't have their act together. I hope you and your wife are okay....

so did mine. It was all a part of the 9 pre surgery test I had to do before my case was even submitted to insurance company.

Ok update. My wife's surgery went well and is resting. I'm not doing the best either. EGD showed a hernia in my esophagus. Anyone know what they do for that? I got a fever today and am very weak. After 40 oz of fluids yesterday only 3 today. I'm on oxygen for shortness of breath.even sitting up or going to restroom makes me almost collapse from exertion. Yesterday I took long walks. Even this morning. This is all post EGD

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
