So i am 6 month post op and I never took or have taken Protein Shakes? I am doing very bad? My nutrionist back home just never told me anything about it but i see that every one here takes.

So i decided to buy the powders? utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Medical Quality Protein™

! I just dont know how much to take or when to take it? And with what quantity of Water?

Im 21 years old and ive lost only about 60 lbs :( ive been stall for like 2 months already. Im getting very depressed and feel this is not going anywhere. Specially because being a college student is so hard to keep up with a diet.

Can someone help me to tell me how much scoops of that powder i shall be taking and how many times a day? And also if its a good Protein Powder? ?

Unjury is an excellent Protein Powder. What flavor did you buy?

Try starting with one Protein Shake daily - 8 ounces of Water, milk, almond milk - whatever you choose to mix it with - and one scoop of Protein powder. You can also add in additional flavoring items such as a tablespoon of sugar free pudding mix, some PB2, or sugar free Torani Syrup.< /p>

If you bought the chicken Soup flavor, that changes the advice I would give -- I am assuming you got vanilla, chocolate splendor, something like that.

PS - Unjury has instructions plus some recipes (scroll down a bit for those) for all its flavors:

If the link above gets messed up by the auto-linking feature here on this site, just Google Unjury recipes. Good luck!

Follow the instructions on the container. Use as a Meal Replacement or extra protein boost pre or post workout.

Thank you very much!! Do you think that now that im going to start drinking Protein shakes will make a difference on my weight loss?

I do boot camp 3 times a week as well

I can't say for sure. You should call your nutritionist and review what you are eating. many have posted increasing their Protein and Water has helped them lose. I know for me it's 3 things: protein, Water and exercise.

I posted some other good choices on your other post...I mix these with 8-12 oz of 1% milk or water:

Syntrax Matrix (choc, PB cookie, vanilla, mint cookie)

BSN Syntha 6 (I especially like Mocaccino)

And then I mix these with water:

Syntrax nectar Iced Tea and Roadside Lemonade.< /p>

I get them at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe or on Amazon online.

I think they will keep you from losing lean body mass and will keep you satisfied and less hungry.

I think you have actually done quite well weight loss wise. You started at a lower weight than a lot of people and many would be thrilled to get to 160's. Remember that losing 60% of excess body weight is considered a success. So if you were 100lbs overweight if you lost 60 that would be a success.

How tall are you? If you started at 214 and your ideal weight was say 130 then you would have 84lbs to lose so a loss of 50lbs would be considered a success.

@@yescobar Are you logging your food on myfitnesspal.com or their phone app or some other program? MFP is really helpful to see if you are getting in the required amount of Protein, Water, and if you are limiting carbs and getting enough Fiber and whatnot. If you are not, consider getting an account so that you can see if you are getting enough Protein every day. The phone app allows you to scan barcodes if you eat something premade like a frozen dinner or a container of yogurt.

In regard to your protein powder, if you mix it with soy milk or cows milk, you will get extra protein on top of whatever the unjury has. So, for example, I use Body Fortress. A scoop of it has 30 grams of protein, and an 8 oz glass of milk to make it with, you will have 38 grams in one fell swoop.

Also, as an exerciser, you might want to consider your calorie intake. I try to get in close to 1200 - especially on days when I exercise. If you are only eating 500 or 600 calories you will probably need to up your caloric intake to revamp the weight loss. The body gets stingy when you are not eating enough.

How much Protein do you take in your shake? Like how many scoops in how much milk or Water? And how many times a day?

I don't know who you are asking, but my goal is 75g Protein a day thought whatever combination.

I typically do 1-2 shakes a day (I did two when I was as far out as you). One scoop per shake and 8-12 oz Water or milk depending on my preference that day.

Today was my first drinking Protein. It seems like 1 scoop is alot but is it normal for it to feel that rich and sweet? Enjury didnt bring a scoop with the shake so im using the scoop of another shake my sister had.

If it's too rich and sweet for you add some more liquid, but yes, they tend to be that way. The colder you make them the less they feel thick/rich/sweet. You can even blend them in the blender with ice or frozen berries to cut the sweet.

Also that brand is thicker/sweeter than some others. The Syntrax Nectar and the Isopure ready to drink bottles are thinner more like a punch than a shake. Also the GNC Lean 25 is a bit lighter.

@@yescobar there should be a scoop in the can of powder. Usually it has shifted all the way down to the bottom and you have to dig for it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
