Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

I just found out my surgery will be in July (granted my pre-op testing goes okay) SOOOOOOOOO

Here's a thread for everyone getting banded in July 07!

Does anyone have any good ideas for a neat name we could call ourselves?

Too cool!!! I'll join you, Dini!!!! But I want a slinky, sexy, red dress w/high heels, maybe stellettos!!! LOL

Thanks Jeanie & Dini,

I needed the hugs & kisses!!!!

Yes, I'm being banded in Toronto. The surgeon is Canada's founding lapband surgeon. He's pioneered it here, done more than 2000 lapbands in the last 7 years (including my best friend).

My DH is coming with me, and so far seems remarkaly calm... he's usually the worrier, not me. Of course, I;m probably worth more dead than alive! LOL. Seriously, I'm proud of his composure right now.

Ok, talking about it helps. I'm starting to calm down. I really can't wait to wake up in recovery though. Just like Sunny's tag line... "let's get this show on the road" :car:

Kathy, Try not to worry! I know it is hard, but I can tell you I was scared to death!!!!! IF anyone would have said do you want to have this done, I would have said no, jumped up and ran out ... but honestly, I have no regrets now!!! I am soooo glad to have had this done! I feel better than I have in years!!!! No kidding, I feel happier and healthier already! I am already off of 5 medications, 4 of which were my sugar meds. It is wonderful! It is single handedly the best thing you will ever do for YOURSELF!!! I doubt from your personality that you have ever done much of anything for yourself! Truly, this will be just that!!!! :)

Sunny and Kathy, Love you Girls!!! You will be super!!!! Can't wait to hear how you are tomorrow!!! You are soooo much more informed than those of us earlier in the month! You know what to expect and you will be ready for whatever comes your way. Just remember, a few days of not so great is nothing in comparison to many healthy and happy days that will follow!!!!! We will say some prayers for each of you!!! Good luck to others going tomorrow also!!!! ... frustrated, newCC, jennyL

NOOOO!!!!

I;m a stress eater, and with the nerves about the surgery, the chaos of the kitchen reno, and then my daughter's tooth through the tonge incident, I didn't stick to low anything. Sushi a few times, ice cream, cookies... all the bad stuff. Man, I feel like such an idiot.

Thanks for the well wishes though.

Kathy, I am a stress eater too! Hey, I didn't follow my pre-op exactly! I don't think any of us have!!! But I guarantee, you ate less than you would have prior to this!!! Don't worry about it!! I wasn't a model student and my doc said my surgery was textbook and that I was a perfect candidate/patient!!! So, hey, you will do just as well!!!! Besides we all love you and you will be fine!!!! Can't wait to get my sis, Kathy back online!!! Will you be home tomorrow night?????:car:

How is your little girl's tongue???? Is it healing nicely??? I have meant to ask the past few times, but I get preoccuped with everything and then submit and then ... remember!!!! YIKES, tooooooo old!!!!

THANK YOU!!!! You knew exactly what to say. :cry

Honestly, I really appreciate your encouragement. I'm not usually afraid of things, and I know logically it makes all the sense in the world. But sometimes I can't help to think my luck in life has not always been kind. Some people tell me that God saves the burdens for those who can handle it... (as I'm not an overly religious person... a little bit, but not a lot), I often think... ok, but my back (mule, whatever) is sore! LOL. I'm just hoping this time is not going to be another "burden".

Thank you Jeanie!

Jeanie, you are amazing! Yes, I'll be back home tomorrow night. My surgery is at 1pm, and they will release me around 5pm. Then we're going to hang out in Toronto for a little bit to let rush hour die down. Then we'll hit the road.

It's a 2-1/2 hour drive home from Toronto. So should be home by 9pm or so, unless we take a few breaks. I'll probably pop online while my DH is driving my niece home.

She's going to pick up the kids from daycare and take care of them all evening until I get home.

Sarah's tonge is healing up really well. I must admit, I'm amazed!!! It has already knitted back together with no real divit or bump in the tip. The "seal" is whitish, but looks really good. I'm glad we didn't go the stiches route, that seemed so painful.

Kathy, It won't be a burden! You will be sooooo glad you did this!!! I am telling you, no one panics more than me and man, did I have the heebie jeebie when I got to the hospital!!! I wanted to bolt!!!! But in the back of my mind, I knew they couldn't MAKE me do it, but rather I NEEDED to do it! Then for the first few hours in the hospital, I was thinking again, my goodness, what have I done to myself????? But now, no way I would have done it any different! Looking back, there was no reason for me to feel so much fear and uncertainty, I was well taken care of and I knew what was happening, but nonetheless, it was there!!!

Kathy, See, everything is falling right in place!! Sounds like the kids are taken care of and you and your Honey have the trip all planned out! Now, all you gotta do is get there, close your eyes, tell them to be quick about it (I did, lol) and on with the show!!! You can do this! Won't be so bad and will be over before you know it! Honestly, just a few hours of not so much fun and then you are off to the races!!!! And LOSERS ROW!!!! YIPPEE!!!

Thanks everyone! I feel much calmer now than I did a few hours ago. I'm going to sign off now and try to sleep. See you on the "bandwagon".

Love y'all (that drawl is for Sunny!!)

See you in the THIN ZONE!!!!! We are going to look sooooo amazing!!!!! LOOK OUT!!!!! Sweet Dreams, Kathy!!!!

Lynette, Just not the same without you on here!!! Fix that computer!!! And Chim, missing her, too! Hope your doing well, Girl!

Sunny, is MIA and Kathy and Dini are off to Dreamland !!! What's a girl to do???? LOL ... You ladies are my entertainment! I may have to find something to dream about soon too!!!! Maybe Lynette's doc, lol!!!!

:notagreeOkay, now this is just ridiculous!!! I am feeling rather sad at the moment ... where is everybody?????? Maybe I smell bad or something, lol!!!! (sniff, sniff).... Nope, not that!!! So where did everyone go???? Must be my bedtime!!! I can take a hint, lol!!!! Night All!!! Hope for lots of good news and reports tomorrow!!! Til then!!! :notagree
