Just relax and everything will be fine. Walk, walk, walk after your surgery. Do what your doc and nurse tell you. See you in bandland!!

Karen - best of luck to you tomorrow...I'm sure you are as prepared as you can be for your surgery. It's great that you found LBT before you had it so that you could benefit from all of the great advice and support that goes on here.

Be sure to let us know how you are doing! We're all here for you!

I will let you know how it goes.

Did any of you have trouble with the anesthesia? I'm nervous about it.

Hey everyone!

It went fine. I was pretty sore yesterday but with the help of pain meds, it's been tolerable. The gas pains have been minimum. I have been sleeping a ton! I spent one night at the hospital so I couldn't reply sooner or I would have!

Mal, give us an update when you can!!

Karen

PS - Anesthesia wasn't that bad. I had a little bit of a sore throat when I woke up and my mouth was dry but it was all fine.

Hi everyone.

I had my band done 5 days ago.. & am going fairly well...still have quite a bit of shoulder pain...

Dont know if it's fromm the op or from pulling a muscle 1 week before...

Cheers everyone

Hey mgh1965

I hear the shoulder pain may be gas related. The gas they blow into your abdomen travels around your body as it's dissipating. Hang in there.

I'm three post op and I'm doing pretty good. I'm not climbing trees or anything, but I'm getting around.

Everyone's advice was spot on. Walk as much as you can and drink super slow. I got a little over zealous and actually hiccupped... I do not recommend this. Ouch!

Congrats all.

My husband and I are having surgery on June 11. We originally wanted to have the surgery 2 weeks apart, but they scheduled us 2 HOURS apart so we talked about it and decided to go for it. My mom is going to help us, God love her. She's an angel.

I'm so excited I can't stand it. I've already lost some weight from the 1200 cal diet. My pants that were super tight on me are a little loose now. Yippee!!

The only thing I'm nervous about is making sure we have everything that we need after surgery. I printed out the lists from another thread and have most of the things on it, but just have a few things left to get.

I'm so happy for all of you who already had your surgery and excited for those of you like me, who are about to have surgery.

I was the same way. I kept thinking I didn't have everything I needed or what if I don't remember what I'm supposed to do or eat. You'll be fine. Each day I'm feeling a bit better. I think tomorrow I might even be up for walking my own dog. My mom has been taking care of her.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
