I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to take melatonin. My dr never mentioned anything about it. If you're worried though I'd just call your Drs office and ask so that you'll have peace of mind :)

I fell in love with celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra tea after surgery. Not only did it help me sleep better, but the warm tea soothed my new tummy. Not sure about the melatonin, but I don't see why not.

I've been taking it without any problems.
