I love my mother!

Recommended Posts

Today, Saturday May 12, I am packing my car to go see my dear mother. I've only seen her once since Thanksgiving and honestly, I really hate that. You see, I love my mother. She is about to be 70 yrs old. She is a hardshell of a woman. Worked all her life, far too hard for us kids. She didn't make great choices about the men in her life, thus, we all suffered. But my mother never faultered in putting one foot in front of the other in order to raise us the best she knew how. We were so poor, I didn't even realize how much until the past few years, but she gave us integrity and honesty and tried to teach us self responsibility and love for something bigger than ourselves.

My hardworking, self sacrificing mother had a stroke last year in June. Bless her heart, her speech is so garbled, she can barely talk, but we've learned to make it humorous and believe it or not, her heart has softened and I've seen her laugh more in this past year than in the last 20. God is surely mysterious.

I love my mother. My heart breaks when I think of her getting old and not being able to work circles around me. She always has. Even now, she runs my brother's restaurant and comes home at night and does his books. She is an amazing woman. The woman I least want to be like and most want to be like at the same time. I surely love my mother.

Today, myself and my daughter will go to her house (while she works) and we're going to clean for her, and move furniture that she can no longer move for herself. My brother has given her a laptop, so I'll be setting that up for her and making it easy for her to use. I'm also taking her my Oreck vaccum, because I don't particularly like it, but it will be lightweight and easy for her to use. It's brand new, she'll think she's had Christmas and that I've spent way too much money. It has nothing to do with money. I just want to make her life a little easier. You see, I love my mother..

If you have one, God bless her..

If you've lost one, God bless you..

If you are one, God bless you and don't forget to thank your children for the gift of being THEIR mother. I do it every year and it makes me feel so good to say Thank you to them for having blessed my life.

Happy Mother's Day ALL!

What a beautiful post Leatha! Enjoy every minute you can with her and you'll never regret one moment.

I lost my Mother, and my best friend. We were so close, we did everything together. There's never a day that doesn't go by that I don't think about her in some way. I miss her more than words can say. If I had one wish that would come true, it would be to spend one day with my parents once more, to be able to say all the things I didn't say and could have.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you!

I think this is a great post to have right before mothers day! I have enjoyed reading about your moms.

Right now I am living at home (after being on my own for over 5 years). I am trying to save money while I am going to school. It has been really hard to give up a lot of my independence. The one thing that makes it all worth it is my mom. She constantly shows me love and support. She encourages me to do better every day. When I come home from school she asks me how it went. She knows everyone in my class by name if not by face. Nursing school can be very emotionally draining, but she is always there for me with a shoulder to cry on. She has always been there for me even (especially) when I had no friends to lean on. She is the only one I am telling about the lap-band. SHe wants to see me succeed. My mom is great and I love her a lot.

Great Posts !!!

Happy Mothers Day Everyone :)

My Mom is the strongest person I know. She was taken away from her parents when she was 11 years old by the Nazi's in poland....never to see her family again (she saw so much evil as a child its amazing). She survived and after the war she worked in a camp serving US soldiers (thats where she met my dad). When my dad returned to the US, my mom followed shortly. She married my dad who was an alcoholic and who's family did not like my mom. They kept calling her a Nazi and treated her really bad. My mom had 7 kids (me the youngest)... she cleaned two houses a day plus ours to help feed us. My dad passed away when he was 54 years old of cancer... Mom kept us together and strong. She survived the death of her eldest son who died when he was 34 and the death of her eldest daughter who was only 45 years old when she died.

My Mom is a pillar of strength. She is 79 years old with the energy of a 30 year old... she can run circles around me with out breaking a sweat. Talk about strong... all 5 feet 3 inches of her. Not only did she teach us right and wrong, she taught us how to love Jesus Christ.

My Mom is the best and I thank God for her every day.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
