November Banders

Recommended Posts

Ok, I got into a skirt that I couldn't fit just a few weeks ago and I was able to zip up my boots all the way up my leg. That felt really good ????.

Yesterday was one month since getting banded. Can't believe it's been a month already! I am literally waiting in the lobby to get my first fill. I weighed in this morning and I am down 13 pounds. Feeling pretty positive!

@@Ldimples - food tastes great to me! I was so sick of Protein shakes I'm just so happy to be chewing. My new thing is grabbing a bowl from chipotle…lot's of great flavors and quite healthy. Not sure why it would taste different. What stage of diet are you on?

food tastes the same for me so not sure. Is it the taste or just pleasure from eating that has changed?

I wish I had some suggestions for you. I'm impressed you're not doing any carbs. I am def doing low-carb, but not carb free. Do you think you should add anything to help with having food diversity or variation, to keep things interesting and tasty?

I say no carbs is awesome! And the fact that food is not "wowing" you is a good thing. You should embrace the fact that you're not obsessing over eating a big donut or something crazy like that. :-) If it didn't wow us so much in the first place, we wouldn't have ended up here.

The most carb I've eaten so far is veggies and a little brown rice, but no more than 1/4 cup. The rest is all Protein.

Hey everybody! How's it going? Just thought I would check in and see how y'all are and how/what you're planning for Christmas.

Christmas is WAY harder than Thanksgiving! There is just constant food. Food everywhere. Lunches, pot lucks, dinners....Ugh. I have tried to make the best choices, but I must admit I've had a few dessert samples. I have not lost any weight in almost a week. But I haven't gained any so I'm counting that a victory. The good thing is I go out on Christmas vacation for two weeks so I'll escape the constant schmorgesborg of food at work.

Same. But I'm home already so that isn't my current issue. We're going out of town for a little over a week. Basically I have 3 "Christmas's" to go to and a birthday party. Plus I'll be staying at my sister's. She knows about my WLS but my husband's family does not. I'm just trying to stay focused and remember that boundaries are okay. But I, too, have not lost anything in a week.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
