I paid $4500 in Puerto Vallarta with Dr. Juan Francisco Hidalgo he did my surgery at the CMQ Premiere Hospital. I stayed at the hospital for 2 nights and the whole trip was 5 nights and 6 days. The $4500 included the beach resort hotel. his website is www.weightlossteam.com

I had my surgery done on Sept 12th in Juarez with Dr. Rodriquez Villarreal. I am the daughter of 2 docs as well as the sister of one......so I am very picky about my medical care. I was nervous at first, but I did research and was very pleased with what I found. Dr. R has a wonderful team of doctors that he works with and they were amazingly thorough. The hospital staff was awesome and the hospital was so clean it put facilities in the US to shame. I stayed in the hospital from the time I arrived until I left. No complications... he uses sutures and staples internally and glue on the skin. The surgery cost me about $7K ...more than worth it to get healthy.

You can private message me if you want to talk and have any questions.

I had my surgery 10 months ago with Dr. Ariel Ortiz and Dr. Martinez at Obesity Control Center in TJ. My experience on a scale of 1 to 10 was a 9. It would have been a 10 if I could have stayed longer because I was having such a good time with my sister. I paid around $7200 for surgery, plane tickets, postop meds, and 4 nights at the Marriott for me and my sister. And yes, they oversew the staple line.

Not scheduled yet but plan on having surgery at Hosp Angeles with either Dr. juan Corvala or Dr. jose Rodriguez. The cost is about 6500 including 3 nites at hospital.

I researched most of the TJ surgeons and believe that there is a small group of top notched experienced pros. There are many competent surgeons and a few to avoid at all costs.

I've narrowed my search down to Hospital Angeles and either Dr. Rodriguez or Dr. Corvala, as well.

I spoke to a doctor on Dr. Corvala's team last week and she patiently and thoroughly answered my questions. Now I'm waiting to hear back from Dr. Rodriguez with his response to a few procedure specific questions.

I'm scheduled for surgery with Dr. Curiel in Tijuana in a couple weeks. Has anyone used him?

I'm paying $3,950 (plus travel cost from Texas to San Diego).

Wow! Thats the cheapest one I've heard so far. Thanks I'm going to check out his website now :)

Dr Wilhemy did my surgery in Mexico. He did suture over the staples and I had 3 tests to check for leaks. I had a very good surgical experience with him and all his medical team in Mexicali, Mexico, this is where the hospital is. You start your journey by going to San Diego California and meet their driver. You pay more than 5000 dlls but it is worth it!

I will be flying to see Dr Wilhelmy in a few days! I am paying 8500 to have my sleeve redone, getting myself a good sleeve this time around. What a waste of money the first time, not making that same mistake again!

Dr. Wilhelmy seems to be a fantastic surgeon. I'd love to hear more about your experience with your first failed sleeve, and how you knew it needed to be redone? This is the first post I've seen like this, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can, so anything you can share would be much appreciated.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
