I had my surgery Tuesday, October 14th. Do not worry about cheating on your preop diet! I did too???? I was having so many food funerals prior to my preop diet so they continued a few times during my preop diet...oops!!! Oh well. I was so discouraged because I felt like I was going to mess up after the surgery but thankfully it has been pretty easy. One night last week I had a melt down because I cooked my family spaghetti and wanted to eat some so bad???? Thankfully that has been my only meltdown. The rest of the days have gone very well even cooking for my family???? The results are worth it!!!

@@TexasMom5

There are a bunch of meetings in Dallas/Ft Worth area. There is one at Baylor Plano (where I had my surgery), but also others all over the metro area.

There is a list of all the local meetings floating around and there is literally one or more almost every day of the month!

I am thinking of attending the one at Doctors Hospital this Saturday. If anyone is going, PM me.

The Baylor Plano one is supposed to be good and they have a clothing swap beforehand. It's the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm.

Thus far I haven't made it to any meeting but I want to.

I'll try to find the meeting list. If I can't find it you can ask at the office they have it there too. Wait I think I got it attached to this message.

Where did everyone have their procedures done?

Just stick to it from here on out!!! I had surgery this past Tuesday and I am amazed at how well I am feeling. Get gas x cause you may need it. That is where I had he worst pain. I have not been nauseous or thrown up at all. Of course I am sore and left side of my tummy is more sore but I expected and prepared to feel worse. My surgeon was Dr Nick. He is so nice and encouraging. Good luck!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
