October 27, 201411 yr I'm actually going to Barker Bariatrics. I considered Nicholson. When is your surgery? Hopefully January for me!
October 28, 201411 yr You are going to do awesome! I am so excited for you. I am a Dr. Nicholson patient too. I had my sleeve surgery two weeks ago (October 14th) and I feel great. My two week follow up appointment is Thursday afternoon at the Plano office. Let me know if you have any questions.
October 30, 201411 yr Author Well surgery went great, I was up walking like a crazy woman lol! Everyone said I looked great. Yesterday was tough with the gas pains but I got my gas x last night. I slept great no pain meds (except the pain patch) since last night. Walked a little today and I think it's getting close to nap time. I did not get my Protein in yesterday so I am really trying today. I am just not hungry at all so that is my goal today is to work on getting that nutrition in. I wanna know about your 2 week follow up, keep me posted!!!
October 31, 201411 yr Author Texasmom5 - how long did it take you to get all the gas off and out of your stomach? That is the only issue I am still having and just curious if about how long this part lasts? Also let me know how you 2 week appt went.
October 31, 201411 yr I am so glad your surgery went so well!!! My two week appt went great. It was ironic....I started throwing up as I was driving to my appt. Yesterday and today my multi vitamin has made me throw up. Sandy said to stop taking my vitamins for a couple weeks. I also have not been able to tolerate thick liquids very well so she said to stay on clear liquids for another five days then try thick liquids again. Isopure is my best friend these days!!! Overall I feel good.
October 31, 201411 yr I am so sorry you are dealing with gas pains. That is no fun. It took a few days for the gas pains to go away. I lived on Gas x and Pepcid and did lots of walking! I can always tell when it's time to take my Pepcid!!! I had to also take a lot of nausea medicine. I have a very sensitive stomach and I am prone to nausea so that was my main issue after surgery. I actually had to go to the ER the day after surgery because I couldn't stop throwing up. Sandy has been great!!!
October 31, 201411 yr Author No nausea here, thank goodness and I am taking the Pepcid and has x I'll just keep doing that. Thank you so much!!! M
October 31, 201411 yr Hi I'm a Nicholson patient too. I will be 8 weeks out Monday. So far everything has been pretty great. I just had my 6 weeks checkup last week. They took blood for labs but I haven't gotten the results. I have been really happy with my results so far! Has anyone been to the meetings yet?
October 31, 201411 yr Hey I'm also a Nicholson patient. I'm currently on my preop diet n surgery on 11/12...so excited yet nervous.
