    British Sleevers!

We will be staying in Kingston-upon-Thames but will be going into Central London to see all of the wonderful tourist attractions. I am so excited about the trip!!! I'm not sure about price. Maybe 20 - 30 pounds per person. The reason why I am so nervous is because I ate something last night that I should not have eaten and got so sick!!! I don't want that to happen in front of my friends since they don't know I had the surgery!!!
  5. I need your advice. I am 5 weeks post op and traveling to London for 9 days on Sunday. The friends I am traveling with do not know I had the surgery. We will be eating out for all of our meals. Is it going to be difficult for me to find food I can eat at restaurants? Currently I am on a soft solid diet. Mainly I eat fish, chicken salad, greek yogurt, low fat mozzarella cheese sticks, thinly sliced deli turkey, green beans, cooked carrots and broccoli, lean ground beef and bananas. Any advice you can give me would help so much!! Thanks!!

woo woo thanks so much for the list!! I had my surgery at Northstar Healthcare Surgery Center. They were great!
  12. hortonl Homemade Cream of Potato soup is a good option to eat for puréed food. You could add unflavored protein powder to it. Have you tried thinned out Greek yogurt or thinned out applesauce? You can also add the unflavored protein powder.
  13. No you are not a wimp???? Those first few days were rough for me too. The day after surgery I had to go to the ER because I couldn't stop throwing up. Every person is different. I am prone to nausea so that is my main issue. On my way to my two week check up yesterday I started throwing up in the car! Gotta love that???? I also threw up on Wednesday. Come to find out my stomach decided it didn't like my multi vitamins. The doctor said to stop taking them for now. I also cannot tolerate thicker liquids like cream of chicken soup or cream of potato soup so I have to stay on clear liquids for another five days then try them again. It's all still worth it????
  14. JFizz21 How did surgery go?

I had my surgery Tuesday, October 14th. Do not worry about cheating on your preop diet! I did too???? I was having so many food funerals prior to my preop diet so they continued a few times during my preop diet...oops!!! Oh well. I was so discouraged because I felt like I was going to mess up after the surgery but thankfully it has been pretty easy. One night last week I had a melt down because I cooked my family spaghetti and wanted to eat some so bad???? Thankfully that has been my only meltdown. The rest of the days have gone very well even cooking for my family???? The results are worth it!!!

I am so sorry you are dealing with gas pains. That is no fun. It took a few days for the gas pains to go away. I lived on Gas x and Pepcid and did lots of walking! I can always tell when it's time to take my Pepcid!!! I had to also take a lot of nausea medicine. I have a very sensitive stomach and I am prone to nausea so that was my main issue after surgery. I actually had to go to the ER the day after surgery because I couldn't stop throwing up. Sandy has been great!!!

I am so glad your surgery went so well!!! My two week appt went great. It was ironic....I started throwing up as I was driving to my appt. Yesterday and today my multi vitamin has made me throw up. Sandy said to stop taking my vitamins for a couple weeks. I also have not been able to tolerate thick liquids very well so she said to stay on clear liquids for another five days then try thick liquids again. Isopure is my best friend these days!!! Overall I feel good.
