Layknee. Warm fluids or at least room temp is better. I think your surgeon needs to be more involved with your care. Are you able to call him or text him? Maybe he has a answering service. Your health is very important & under no circumstances should you be put off after a major surgery. My 2 cents.

ive tried room temp. warm Soups and cold smoothies work. I can eat. I've had puréed mashed potatoes, even puréed turkey burger. My Protein Shakes are fine. Skim milk. Orange juice sometimes. I want to drink Water so bad. I begged the bariatric surgery team to let me go home Thursday. I promised the senior resident I would call if it didn't get better. I don't know why I have cramping in my chest when drinking water. I'm going to try "thick it" in my water to maybe help me tolerate it.

They took an X-Ray and a Cat scan Wednesday but I can't have contrast because of my iodine allergy. I go back to clinic on Wednesday.

Laykee- is the Water bottled or from the tap? I mentioned it to my DH and he wondered if the water might be hard or soft, or if there could be impurities in your plumbing.

Good question superbariatricbabe, that could be. And oh my layknee, your pee is so dark. Wow. Do you think you're still dehydrated?

Here it is, it's cheaper at Walmart and target I think. It's really easy to put on. It holds things in place. I normally start over my incision and then on the first wrap I swoop under my hanging belly and pull it up and continue to wrap until it's fitted just tight enough and secure. It's pretty handy.

I was looking at that yesterday and with your recommendation, I will order tomorrow.

ive tried both even purified and distilled. Tonight I tried warm to hot water it's still cramping but not as bad. I've never wanted anything more right now than to just drink a cup of water.

Was there someone else in here having problems sleeping? This is the 2nd night now. Thought it was just a fluke last night. I went to bed at 10pm tonight cuz I was exhausted. actually fell asleep fairly quickly. Woke up, felt like I'd slept a really long time. It had been 10 mins. And I've been awake ever since reading. I finally just gave up and resorted to the living room recliner. Shockingly I nestled right into it. Usually it's uncomfortable for me. It's my honeys chair, lol. But goodness, I couldn't find a position that wasn't hurting me in bed. Ughh. Looks like I'll start taking my melatonin again I guess. But for tonight its a good book and HGTV!

Layknee- I just tried drinking some regular Water. I had the same thing happen as I think you are. A tightness/cramping in the upper chest? I added some cranberry juice and I'm good now. But how weird is that?? I wonder what's up with that?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
