Newbie looking for buddies! 10/16 Surgery

Recommended Posts

Looking for some October buddies so we can have moral support and stuff (i.e. exchange numbers and instagrams if you want). I have my surgery date 10/16 and am currently on day 5 of liquids. I already spoke w/the anesthesiologist from the Hospital the other day and just need to be told what time to arrive. Also from S. Florida! :)

Hi all, I had my sleeve done yesterday 10/15/14 and feeling ok. The surgery made me feel tired all day also I

suffered from nausea but nothing major, they said it's normal. My journey now truly begins... Good luck everyone and keep us posted.

Surgery done last thursday (10/16) everything went well, some pain (of course) first two days at the hospital and now at home pain has gone, except for cramps that come and go, which I've been told are normal. I won't weight until finished the first week. It's very hard the first days on Full liquid, although you don't have any hunger psychologically its a stress but manageblable. I hope as days pass by and I progress into the next steps everything will be fine. No regrets at all, already feeling good.

Hi all,

This morning I decided to weigh myself and got a shock, kept jumping off the scales and back again, just to make sure the scales were working properly. It would appear I've lost 11Ibs. This put a big smile on face.... I'm so ready for this journey and the challenge.

Lifeafterfluff - What's your surgery date?

It has been a week and a half since my surgery on the 16th and I feel great by the day. Very bored about the Full liquid diet but i just need to relax a couple more days to get to the next stage that i know will be much better. Lost 33 pounds since pre op diet.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
