October Surgery Date

  • Popular Post

Hi everyone!

Just came back from doctor's office and have a October 28th surgery date for Gastric Bypass. This is it, the high diving platform. Knees are trembling.

Anyone else in October? Let's keep in touch as we support each other. We have the pre-op diet and getting mentally ready for this.

LET'S DO IT!

So sorry Sherri!!!

I'm wondering how Karenallen & AuriP are doing? Wishing them a speedy return to pain free days.

Amylynns, how are the liquids going?

Really well! I'm barely hungry. A bit on the sleeping side, but that's normal for me at this time of the day.

I've consumed over 90oz of Fluid already! (not all water) That's with de-caf coffee, juice, Protein shake, broth, V-8 and Water.

Peeing like crazy!!

I have a Dr. appt. this afternoon (did something to my stupid elbow...it's been bugging me for weeks, but getting worse. Such a pain!) Then there's a support group meeting at my surgeon's office tonight at 6 that I want to go to. My only problem is that I won't be able to have my "dinner" until after 7:30. I made an extra Protein shake to take along though, so hopefully will do ok until then.

Sorry Sherri, that's a bummer.

I'm okay, super drugged, love you guys. Will talk more when I'm not on morphine every six minutes, which is pretty awesome. OXO SBB ????????❤️????✨????????????????????????☀️????????????????

Hahaha Superbariatricbabe, I'll leave you to it!, enjoy the drugs while they last...

And amylynns, 90 oz! You're going to float away with all of that liquid! You're my hero.

Oh I forgot; Beni, I'm getting RNY bypass plus fixing a large hiatal hernia. I'm wondering if the fluids will be any harder to get down because of the HH area being sore? I know if I get nauseous and throw up it will probably hurt from pulling stitches there. When I was pregnant, I spent the first 4 months each time getting sick all day, so I'm prone to that esp when I get dizzy. (I had to wear sea bands just to get into a standing position.) I sure hope I don't fall into that trap again of getting dehydrated. Ice chips and Popsicles did help tho.

SBB enjoy!!! Looks like you are ????. Wishing you a good recovery!

Awesome pic superbariatric! So excited for you today. I met with the surgeon one last time before tomorrow!

Sunshine! Excited to have a same day buddy. I look forward to checking on you tomorrow.

Sherrib- I'm so sorry you still aren't feeling well. Don't stress and get some rest. You'll be there soon.

Where was it leeking? the band, port? how did they fix it? did you go back to Mexico to get it fixed? Do you know exactly which band you have?

Thank you!

Hi Tacycakes, I too was super nauseated in my first trimester of pregnancy. It was so bad I refused to have any more babies (did end up with 3 kids but 5 pregnancies). I am sure the hernia will add a little something but lots of people have them done at the same time as RNY. It will be fine in the end.

Okay everyone,

OCT 7th is a mad rush. There are a ton of gladiators going through tomorrow. I apologize in advance if I forget someone. It's getting harder for my little brain to keep track.

Best of luck to:

Best of luck everyone! We are cheering you on! Let us know how you did!

Hey, does anyone have one of those fitbits or a comparable one? They're pretty expensive with the readout on some of them. I didn't know if they are worth it or if it's just as easy to keep up with water by your phone timer. I've heard that they are also a pedometer and heart rate gauge.
