My doctor stated I would be going home without drains. Of course, assuming there are no complications. He doesn't use catheters routinely either. Surgery is only an hour and you will be awake and up going to the bathroom a couple hours later. Sooner then a night's sleep. But I sure don't go to bed with an IV with fluids. I hope my bladder can hold! Lol. Mine is not on the largest size either. I think with every kid it shrunk. Since I have been attempting to get my 68oz of Water (have not made it except 3 times in a month) I feel it may be the size an almond. My, oh my, I sure visit the little girls room a lot (TMI). I also wonder if my doctor thinks I'm super woman. I very much doubt I will be walking around two hours after major surgery.

But some doctors do drains and catheters as part of their procedure from what I have read in this board. I guess it varies.

Started my liquids this morning.

Yummy Recipe if you're looking for one!

"Orange Julius!" It's 1 cup of OJ, 1 scoop of vanillia Protein mix and a packet of sweenter. (whatever kind...I used Stevia) a few ice cubes, and blend. SO yummy!!!

I was a bit up on the scale this morning, but I'm sure some of it is TOM. 249

@@tacycakes I don't think the Catheter is as much pain as it is this weird sensation. (I've had two c-sections). I'm 5'4 started at 303lbs in May. I'm at 286.4 now did a semi liquid diet last week with maybe a total of four solid meals last week. Tomorrow is the start of my official pre-op liquid diet. I used this week to see what Protein Drinks worked bet for me. attachicon.gif ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1412563537.589204.jpgbut I also ordered the GENEPRO. This a vegan Protein Meal Replacement made from sprouted brown rice and others. If you let it sit for a bit it gets this gloopy cream of wheat consistency which I actually prefer.

My surgery is on Columbus Day, the 13th. So close. I have average anxiety. I just feel like I need to have everything cleaned up before it. I've been quite fatalistic as of late.

That is so funny... I go in tomorrow and I have been cleaning, cleaning and cleaning.

Surgery was moved up from October 21 to the 7th for me! Who's ready? Me! I was anticipating a delay but got quite the surprise by my office. Crossing my fingers and praying for each of you as your dates arrive. Good luck all! I'll be checking in on everyone frequently

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
