good luck!!!!....

I came home one day after surgery. Got directly on the scale and I was exactly 12 pounds heavier than on the day of surgery. I wish my doctor had warned me about that possibility. I was shocked and confused. I soon realized from reading the forums that it most likely was iv fluids. It took me 5 days to get back to weight on surgery date. When I went for my 10 day post op visit I had lost a grand total of 4 pounds. BTW my surgeon had me on four ounces of clear fluids per hour!! Because I was now unable to tolerate any thing with artificial sweeteners I was only drinking water and chicken broth. Four whole pounds on 30 calories a day! Speedy recovery to you.

Hmmm ... today was Day Four (post-op), and this a.m. I was down 1.5 pounds below what I weighed the day before surgery.

Now I wish I'd weighed when I got home.

Disclaimer: Actually, I didn't weigh when I got home because I figured I'd freak out.
