Checking in here to see what I have in store for me......

Yenken: I laughed about your description of your little brother! LOL that is very very very sweet of him to notice your loss. BIG NSV

Keythra: I've been watching your posts with all the other health complications you've gone through since banding..... DANG woman!!!

on the makeup front..... about 2 years ago my skin changed and now all drug store stuff makes me break out... and my eyes swell shut. it is the WIERDEST thing.. I had to change to Clinique but still only wear mascara on special occasions because even though they don't swell with clinique they get really itchy after a few hours.

I'm here , reading and just waiting for my fill.

Isabellama- i have done colonics. I wouldn't say I loved it b/c that wouldn't sound right but it sure does work. I felt great afterward and you feel great getting all that toxic stuff out. If I could do it once a month I sure would. The stool softeners always work for me.

WHERE THE HECK DID PAM GO?? She used to post so much and then ...nuthin'!!

I am still doing the same stuff here, mom and dad leave on monday and I leave for France monday too.

XXOO

I notice thickchickTEXAS, you have a band name, "simply bueautiful". Now this sound dumb, but do you have a musical band named that, or have you named your band, on your stomach that?

I've seen where people have named thier bands. Back while I was waiting for my procedure I thought about what I might name mine. Considering I don't have a fill and I don't much notice it's there, hence it doesn't have much of a personality, I hadn't really thought about it.

Anyone, anyone? Anyone out there named thier bands? If so what's its name?

Afrykanvyolet-

I'm such a drugstore makeup JUNKIE. I just went and bought two new lipsticks!

I love the new almay lipsticks, the ones that stay on forever. I think I have found the perfect lipsticks for me. Plus they have the coordinating lipwhere stuff, the linker and gloss and lipstick. I love almway, its like makeup for dummies, and I know I'm not allergic to it. My friends were appreciative when I showed them their coordinating eye colors (the girls I know don't know makeup stuff either-- we're hopeless mostly). I always feel left out looking at coordinating eye stuff though. They have it for every color except grey eyes. Nobody ever has stuff for grey eyes! But theres more of us than there are people with green eyes... I had a tube of MAC lipstick when I was younger, like 14 that I had for years. I used it until it absolutely completely wore down. They used to have colours that you just didn't get anywhere else.
I discoverd dior not too long ago because I ordered an eyebrow pencil that was dior from some department store online. For some reason I have a hard time finding one thats reddish. maybeline or some other brand like that used to make one in the perfect shade but they don't seem to anymore. Since I use a milk benzoyle perozide solution for acne on a regular basis, I find my eyebrows keep getting paler. The eyebrow pencil wasn't cheap, and the shipping was almost as much. But they sent me a suprise free gift thing with it- a makeup bag with some sample size makeup in it. Lip stick, tinted moisturezer, mascara, and something else. Its nice stuff in general, including the bag, actually, but I adore the mascara. And its just their regular mascara. I was using my smudge proof, waterproof, clump free stuff. This stuff makes all that pale in comparrison-- it makes me not mind using mascara when I do use it cause it sticks to the lashes and looks good. So since then I've been pondering if expensive eye liner would be easier/better too (I have hear lancome le crayon is good for people who have poor fine motor skills like me). Its crazy! If only I could buy sample sizes!

I have grey eyes also....they never have coordinating anything for us. Add to that the fact that I am makeup tarded and most of the time I just don't wear any.

When I do though - I love Lancome mascara. I also use a slanted brush and just use eyeshadow as eyeliner. I don't have steady hands and the eyeshadow looks smoky and is hard to screw up. With regular eyeliner I can never get anything even resembling a straight line.

WI this week was a pound lost, but enough to get me to the 50 pound mark!carrot.gif I go for my first "fill" Monday morning, so I think the doctor is going to be pleased with what she sees when I go in.

Of course, since the weather here has gotten nicer, I've been able to do a bit more of this running.gif, which is always great. AND...I was even able to pass up all the junk food at the tenant council meeting last night by taking my bottled Water and a Special K Cereal bar with me instead.biggrin.gif Cookies just don't appeal to me any more for some reason.....

WOW...I've missed alot of postings, but it sounds like everyone is doing great. I've been running around in circles the last few days. My cousin just passed away so I've been trying to make arrangements to get to Mississippi for the funeral next weekend. This wouldn't be a big issue if we didn't already have flights going to Las Vegas the same weekend. Yes, we had to cancel our trip to Las Vegas Mother's Day Weekend! :cry Besides being charged a $100 change fee for switching flights. The cost of the plane tickets to Jackson is triple the cost that we paid for Las Vegas! Jackson, MS isn't exacly a vacation spot or a popular destination unless of course it's Mother's Day Weekend!!! We just decided to take the credit for the flights and use it some other time. We're taking the train to Jackson!

Lapband News: Well, I was extremely tight after my 2nd fill on Monday. I tried to tough it out, but I was even having a hard time drinking Water. I was sweating profusley and feeling very weak. When I went to my group meeting Tuesday night, I got mixed opinions on whether I should wait it out or have some taken out. After the meeting the nurse was still there so I told her what I was feeling and she immediately said I was too tight. She said I am so glad you said something because they've had some who wait until they are dehydrated or worse. Anyhow, I had .5cc removed so now I'm at 2.25cc in a 4cc band. I feel alot better and I still have good restriction.

Tammy: Sorry about your loss. You really have a lot going on right now. I'm just happy that you're feeling better after having a feww cc's removed.

Lori: Congrats....doesn't it make you feel good to know that the doc is going to be happy with your progress. It proves to them that we can do it and its not some quick way out.

Sue: I've done colincs too. It makes you feel so much lighter after a session. Now, I'm going to try some acupuncture. Anyone ever had that done??

Tracy: LOL about my brother. Its true though, he'll rather have a nice fancy car than have a real bed to sleep in. That's how these young guys are - their priorities are so different. And sorry that you have to shell out all that money and can't be drug store makeup feign like some of us...:)

Juli: I think we could be sisters. But I'll tell you a secret that I tell no one. Sometimes I go to the beauty supply store to get make up, and I'm not talking about Sally's. I'm talking about the one's owned by the Asians. You can find eyeliners and lip gloss of every shade. I also get cute hair accessories like headbands for a buck each. Who said you have to spend a lot to be a FASHIONISTA!!!

Tammyj-

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. My sympathies are with you and your family. Enjoy your folks while you are with them.

Vegas will be there later, along with Wayne Newton.

They call it an adjustable band so saline can go in AND come out as needed. You are smart to have some removed.

AfrykanV-

I'm growing my hair out, and I've become a clip/comb if you can stick it in your hair nut. I'm going to have to scrounge up the kind of shop you're talking about.

The change in your face even in your pre-op diet is amazing even before your band. Imagine how you're going to look down the road. WOW!!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
