Today I officially got my insurance approval! My tentative surgery date is Aug 25. I'm 28 years old and weigh about 240 currently. I have sleep apnea and high cholesterol.

I'm really excited and terrified all at once. I'm excited to finally get a grip on my weight. I've tried several times on my own. I am able to lose weight but just can not keep it off ( and it beings friends :( ) I'm hoping this will help.

I'm so scared from basic nervousness about surgery.

I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter who is autistic. She is my main motivation. Right now I have a hard time being active with her. She deserves the best from me. This is benefit is so much.

Here's to a new me :)

best of luck to you! You are doing the right thing. I am 5'1" and I weight 243. I have been reducing my carb intake for the last week and lost 5 lbs. I am on a mission to find different types of Protein shakes. so far I do not like the powders. I like muscle milk light chocolate. that is doable. I am scheduled for 9/27. As soon as I drop some weight my plan is to get into a excersize plan. right now I am just too heavy and I get tired too quickly. Plus my son is busy 4 nights a week from 4-8 (of course I have to stay with him) and saturdays due to his sports..........I just ordered "unjury" Protein samples. I hope they are good. I suggest going to Vitamin shoppe and trying protein powders ...but don't stock up. I hear after surgery you taste buds 'can' change. one gal I saw on youtube stocked up seriously like she was preparing for a tornado........she said after her surgery her buds changed and she hated the stuff she had bought. so for me, i am trying what I like now. but I won't buy until after the surgery! try carb reduction and see how it works for you.............the sooner you get into a routine (which is what i am attempting) the better off you will be after surgery! it won't be suck a shock! best of luck to you!!!!

I use Unjury Protein, it's the only one I could find that I can tolerate. I put myself on two Protein Shakes a day a couple months ago. I walk about 5 miles a day and work out with weight machines at the YMCA three times a week. I am trying to get into a work out routine I am kinda sad I will have to cut back after the surgery for a while. All I can really do is walk. Since May 31st I am down 40 pounds. My current weight is 242.2 and I am 5 foot 9 inches tall.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
