2 weeks out, still very painful

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 7/21/14 and I'm still in quite a lot of pain. It feels like internal pain rather than incisions, and it's not gas pain. I do get gas pains a lot though. Mostly my pain is in the middle of the night, or when standing up. I also feel dizzy quite often, and no energy. I'm on Clear Liquids and 2-3 Protein Shakes per day. Any advice?

I was also sleeved on 7-21-14 and I to am extremely dizzy. I had an upper GI test done yesterday and got the results today. My surgeon informed me out of 500 surgeries I was his first mistake. My sleeve was made to narrow so the food won't stay down. I don't have any good advice for you but you are not alone. Good luck to you I hope you feel better soon!

I was sleeved on 7/18/14. Doing better this week. I am still having discomfort in my low left quadrant of my abdomen. Understand how u feel, my dizziness had gotten better since introducing semi-solids. Hope u feel better soon! You might need to call your doctor, have you had your follow up yet?

@ Jenna1985, I'm so sorry to hear about your complication. How do they propose to correct this "mistake"?

I have three options none if which are appealing. First they are going to try an endoscopy to try and widen the sleeve. If that isn't successful they will have to cut a hole in the sleeve and worst case they will have to cut out more of my stomach and intestines like a bypass patient. I'm starting to ask myself why me???

That's terrible, Jenna. I'm so sorry. I hope the doctor is able to fix it. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

So terribly sorry Jenna. Prayers that whatever decision is reached, it is the best choice to restore your health and get you on the road to recovery. Hugs.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
