September surgery

Recommended Posts

This Liquid Protein diet is not easy for me. I have a major headache from caffeine/sugar withdrawal, I think. Not getting all the shakes in because the headache make me feel yucky already. I guess those 'last chance to enjoy' lattes were not my friend. UGH

Is anyone else a LAP band to bypass patient? I'd love to connect with someone else who is having surgery around the same time. Mine is Sept 15th.

Yes, I am doing the bypass. I am a bit nervous! I felt like I couldn't wait for the approval and when I got it, I went into panic mood! Yikes! How are you doing?

Doing good. I have a LAP band and can't wait to have it out. My biggest concern is how complicated it will be to take it out. Can't wait to start my journey to thinness!

I'm September 9th! I am excited and nervous. I was told a million times that the 6 months pre-op would fly by and boy were those people right! I am super excited for all of us to start our journey on the "other side" of this.

I spent 6 months waiting for my insurance to change to one that covers WLS. That didn't fly by at all!

Hi, Nicole! I'm Sept 9 too! Isn't this great to have people to share this with?!? I am getting ready for the nutrition class... Like right now! Waiting for it to start :) Really nervous about this but so helpful to read that others have the same thoughts/concerns. Are you doing a two week preop?

Well, I was informed yesterday that my 9/2 surgery was moved up to 8/25 due to a cancellation. I was happy to get this done quicker but I spent yesterday trying to calm down (without eating to cope) about losing a week to mentally prepare. Sure hope my liver is alright for surgery without the extra 8 days fasting. Did I mention that not being able to eat when stressed stresses me? LOL This pre surgery diet is not my friend.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
