Please pray for the family of a friend of ours who died from the lap band surgery last week. Boy do we take things like sagging skin, weight not coming off fast enough, fills and unfills for granted, I guess we should all just be happy that we made it through surgery to even worry about these things!

My understanding is during the surgery (very GOOD surgeon, whom has done thousands of lap-band surgeries, with a VERY HIGH success rate) part of her stomach lining was cut through and she developed an infection due to that, and unfortunately passed away as result.

Thank you for your prayers she was a younger woman with a family etc, they will def. need some prayers!!

while this is just devastating lets remember OBESITY IS 100 0/0 FATAL

we pray and hope and love every day....and comfort the family with the knowledge that she was trying her best to live a long life with them...

My prayers go out for her and her family......somehow that does not seem enough.....no matter what you say it will not make them feel any better.......the fact she is gone, they will have to learn to live with.

Life is certainly precious and unpredictable........I lost one of my friends who had surgery the week before mine she had RNY though and she got C-DIFF and it took her.

I am sorry for your friend's families loss, how tragic! While we all know the risk is there with any kind of surgery no one really expects their family member to be the one in whatever number, especially for an elective surgery. I honestly believe my chances of being killed in an auto accident on the freeway in Dallas are probably as good or greater than my chances of dying in surgery, yet I drive around this area everyday.

I am soo sorry to read this sad news - my Prayers are with this family and you.
