I was the insurance coordinators guinea pig...I told her I read the policy and no where did it say I needed a six month supervised diet...she read it and agreed, I called insurance today and I'm approved! Too late to call the surgeons office, but I will be calling them in the morning to see when I will be scheduled, yay!

BCBS is fairly easygoing as far as insurers go!

HMMMM, I have BCBS of Ok. I just read mine and it doesn't say that either. I just went to my first dr appointment on Friday, they told me there was a 6 month supervised weight loss required. Now I am curious because I looked at my policy's requirements and it was just revised in June. Thanks for sharing!

Is your policy thru work or through the govt nightmare, oops healthcare setup? I have BCBS of La that I pay for myself and it says it doesn't cover it. None of my choices offered it.
