Follow your preop diet dont cheat. Walk your butt off as soon as you can after you wake up in hospital-helps with gas. Realize you will be super tired easily in the first few weeks. I am 10 days post op and tired very fast. Stick with the recommended supplements and diet.

Ask your surgeon if he would please extract as much of the CO2 as possible before he closes up your incisions. Many people suffer from excruciating "shoulder gas" for a few days after their sleeve. It is part of the surgical process to expand the abdominal cavity with CO2 so that the tools have more room to navigate around and about in there while the doctor is working.

One of my pre-op questions was about how he manages post-op pain and residual gas. He said and I quote, "I will extract as much of the gas as possible before I close you up." I am happy to report that even though I was over-anxious about it, I had no gas pains at all post-op. It is worth asking about, anyway. They put it in there, so why shouldn't they try to get it back out?

Hello. I'm scheduled for July 1st. I'm doing to the pre op diet. I agree with the above mentioned...it's about killing me. Let me know can think about is food rather than being nervous.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
