6 month medically supervised diet policy changes?!?!?!?!

Recommended Posts

My surgeon's insurance coordinator is the one that told me that the requirement had been dropped, I believe she was contacted by BCBS about the policy change. I really hope this helps you! The surgeon's office is getting ready to submit my case to the insurance company, I will let you know if it goes through.

Thank you for your kind response. I am hoping my insurance coordinator gets notified of the change once my case is submitted. Had my EGD today and completed all my other requirements this week. Now I just have to wait on my psych results and blood work before they will submit. Good luck and please keep me posted.

So excited for all of you! Due to insurance error at the start of the year ams lack on communication from my doctors office, I just found out the opposite, that I have to do the diet when I thought I didn't. I loved reading the excitement in this thread though. That will be me one day! ☺

Triplenmomma sounds like you and I will be going through this journey at the same time. I just had my first consultation. Need to lose 25 lbs to get my bmi down. Have to do 6 months supervised weight loss and have to have a psych eval. Had the rest of my initial labs drawn the day of my consultation.

My first weigh in/class is set for October 6th and my psych eval is October 8th. Trying to get any and all appointments out if the way early on. Don't want any last minute small things to hold me back at the end!!

Good luck on your journey and happy losing!

Teri

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
