I know we can't eat much (I'm only post-op one week) but let me tell you... I was so excited to have some blended up chili today!!! I even cried, I was so excited!

My least favorite food during the first week was sugar free Jello... YUCK!

I've been on this liquid diet since Monday. I'm starving! I did good on the Protein Shakes but they kept me full. I'm sick of Sugar Free Jello! What got u thru the week?

Just the thought of Day 7 and blended chili LOL!!!

Honestly tho, I was miserable. I was soooo hungry. I would try to drink Water to settle the hunger pangs down, but it seemed to only make them worse. What day Post-op are you? Are drinking any shakes yet? That helped a little bit....

I know what you mean abt the chicken broth! Ugh! I'm starving! If I can just get thru the wknd I'll be ok & can go on "full liquids". My surgery was Monday & I'm so sore & full of air. It hurts to burp but fella good to get it out the other end lol.

My surgery is tomorrow and I can not stand another sugar free anything. I have never liked any of it and after drinking some SF drinks these past two weeks almost all I can stomach lately is Water with a wedge lemon. Not sure what I will do next week. I do know that chili sounds like a dream and I would be right next to with the tissue box crying if I could have some!

Ummm! I'm 2.5 years post-op and I had chicken bruschetta tonight. It was incredible. chicken tenderloins with a basil/garlic/Tuscan seasoning marinated in olive oil and spread over the chicken and fire roasted tomatoes. Served over a bed of spaghetti squash with a splash of balsamic vinegar. Very healthy and delicious.

Tomorrow night it will be baked salmon with Cajun seasoning and asparagus. Saturday it will be Hamburger patties grilled with a little cheese and green chilis. Side salad or some vegetable if they look incredible at the market.

Oh yeah, I had huevos rancheros for Breakfast. No tortilla, refried black Beans with an egg on the Beans smothered in a low fat homemade green chili stew and a splash of cheese.< /p>

Love the band. Rock on!! :D :P

I loved cottage cheese and clear Japanese Soup. (I strained out the mushroom slivers.). I also had Lipton cream of chicken probably once a day. I guess I was lucky because I love SF jello!

As for now I eat a lot of shredded chicken and tuna with light mayo. String cheese (light) is another go to food, along with zucchini and ranch. Ooh, can't forget laughing cow cheese!

After a fill I rely on French onion Soup and Protein shakes. I'm getting closer to the green zone and look forward to figuring out what works and what doesn't.

:)

I am now almost 2.5 weeks post-op, and able to eat stuff that's soft or mashed up. I think my favorite thing now is Albacore with light mayo. I drain the entire can, add about 3 tbs of light mayo, and I'm set! I eat 1/4 cup and I'm good with that. Lots of Protein in it, too! sugar free pudding is delightful, too!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
