Starting my journey...new on here

Hello everyone...

I've been lurking on here for awhile but this is my first post. I'm 26 and from Chicago and have finally decided to take the steps to have bariatric surgery. Attended a seminar a Loyola University Medical Center that was very informative. I'm nervous but excited for what's to come in the future!

I was wondering if anyone on here has experience with County Care Medicaid from Illinois? I've called them several times and other than knowing that they do cover surgery, I keep getting conflicting responses about qualifications or where I can go to have the surgery. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome & congrats on taking the first steps to a more-healthy you! :)

I would ask them to email you a copy of the policy related to bariatric surgery. They should also be able to send you the most current list of approved hospitals.

I don't have the same insurance, but I did this and had the email in minutes. Seems like a standard request.

I brought it to my consult and they were thrilled to have the info. Made life easy.

Good luck !
