I am from long island. I was sleeved on 7/30. I have lost at total of 48lbs. Including the 2 weeks pre op liquid diet.

I am in a constant mental battle daily. I stay between 700-1000 calories a day with as little carbs as possible. I get in my protien or close to it and the same with fluids. I am on my 2 nd stall and fustrated.

I am looking for people to chat with, vent with and become a sleeve buddies lol.

Starting next week you should be on your liquid diet. That right there will help you to drop 10-20 lbs.

I know at first this whole surgery thing is scarey and you feel like you are going to be "losing" so much food freedom, but trust me once you get past the surgery and healing process it isnt so bad. Sure you cant have crappy foods anymore but its for the better. Ive noticed that i am not so sluggish anymore. All the crap food kind of drains you and weighs you down. I feel healthier with eating better. Plus watching that scale go down instead of up is such an accomplishment, you wont want to mess that up. It kind of becomes addictive to see how much you can lose each time.

It is the best thing you could do for yourself and your loved ones.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
