Changing how I consume my protein

Recommended Posts

I love chobani but since surgery I cannot have any yogurt. Not even the light and fit stuff.. It makes me dump.

My instructions for surgery post op diet from my surgeon says...Most Protein Powder drinks or ready to drink (RTD) Proteins in a can should be consumed within 20 - 30 minutes to obtain the best Protein value. Be sure that the protein you choose does not contain any more than 200 calories, has at least 20-30 G protein and no more than 5 grams of sugar. Also be sure that it has a full-chain of essential amino acids.... So not sure how this works with the other facts noted in this thread. So confusing.

The chobani was making me nauseated. Then I found the yoplait 100 calorie ones. More Protein and way less sugar. I eat one for Breakfast and havent had any issues.

Has anyone tried Chobani Greek Yogurt. It comes in a 5.3 OZ size. 13 grams of Protein also 13 grams of sugar:( but I find it avery satisfying breakfast. Add a little fruit and some granola it my current fav. 120 cals per serving

I don't like chobani. They us milk from cows fed with grains grown with GMO's. I buy FAGE 0% greek plain yogurt and add my own mix ins or use it as a base for a Protein Shake.< /p>

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
