June 9th Sleeve - Looking for friends!

Recommended Posts

Day 4 is going rough. Missing food, sick of shakes. Looking for alternatives.

I made noodle Soup and strained the noodles. Helped. Family went to dinner and I skipped. Not strong enough today, too weak.

Are you on a strictly liquid diet? we can have 100 -200 calories of a list of fruits and veggies. I start my preop diet on Saturday

All liquids. No food. 4 Protein shakes with milk or Water daily. If needed I can add broth or sugar free Jello or Popsicles. I don't eat sugar free stuff. I stopped eating artificial sweeteners 8 years ago.

12 days to go

So what is everyone most looking forward to in the coming year? Here are some things I thought of driving in to work. This is going to help me through this preop diet!

1- Wearing a normal t-shirt. One that doesnt choke my neck and arms! I cannot wear a tshirt without looking ridiculous right now.

2- Not feeling my little car sink down when I sit in it.

3- Being able to sit on the ground at a ballgame or concert and not have to look like a walrus getting up.

4- Not worrying about breaking the antique chairs at my Grandmothers dinner table on Sunday.

5- Fitting on a normal sized pool float. AND, going down our pool slide without worrying if I will get stuck.

6- Wearing a sundress, and wearing shorts that arent to my knees to cover my thighs.

7- Being able to exercise without my knees hurting.

8- Being able to shop wherever I want.

9- Being able to get ready in the morning for work without sweating. I don't know why but I burn up trying to get ready.

10- Not worrying about when I get up if I left sweat on a seat.

11- Being able to go to an amusement park and ride whatever I want to.

12- Wearing a belt with my jeans!

13- Being comfortable in my skin.

14- Enjoying shopping for clothes, instead of always shopping for scarves, jewelery, purses and shoes.

What are you looking forward to??

MommaCEO- I'm with ya! Day 4 seemed harder. I'm on the same as you. Today will be better. time is going by quickly

It was weird. Day 1-3 were fine but yesterday sucked. I even got in a tiff with hubby since I felt so crappy.

I'm down 5 pounds

I'm looking forward to new clothes in a normal store. It's been too long.

Irritated with surgeons office. They were supposed to send the paperwork for pre op stuff last week, called wed, they didn't send it. Still don't have it.

I'm with you on the artificial sweeteners - I refuse to have aspartame! I'm okay with the natural sweeteners like Stevia and Monk Fruit. I have an awesome recipe for homemade sugar free jello out you ever want it!

Looking forward to:

1. People not thinking that I am a slob/lazy because of my weight. I actually am a neat freak and constantly clean our house.

2. Shopping for clothes that don't have a plus name on tag.

3. Walking on beach with hubby without thighs chaffing.

4. Being confident in how I look when I am around the skinny moms at daughters school.

5. Wearing heals without worrying if they have a weight limit on them. Haha!!!

Please.

I know so great tasking sweetener free Protein brands. Have you decided which protein to use. The issue is the Bariatric Meal Replacements have extra Vitamins where the sweetener free Proteins dont. I have to take a multi but after taking a pill might be an issue.

I am suffering from bitterness. I've read all over the for us that each pre-op diet is WAY different. Why do I get the luck of being stuck with the DR who wants 14 days liquids, no food.

Also I take back everything I said about no bathroom issues, I was way wrong.

I think I'm going to make a calendar and cross out days to see how far I've gotten.

MommaCEO- I agree with you. I can't believe each doctor has such different diets. I've read where some have 4 weeks of liquid diet. But I think those folks have higher BMIs. We can do this, I'm really trying to stay busy. This weekend will be tough. During the week, I'm at work and busy. Last night I took a long walk. Today I'm cleaning house and going to the gym. What about juicing? Before I started my pre op, I made fresh juices with raw veggies and fruits. I would even add Protein power and make it a meal. Has anyone asked their NUT about this?

I did have a yummy shake. I made tea from loose leaf and mixed with vanilla Protein and milk. Yummy.

I did buy gum to help and I might suck it up and buy sf Jello and Popsicles. Today was hard. Every smell was killing me. I was super sensitive and I had a 5 year old party to go to with music and screaming. Plus it smelled fake sickly fruity.

I'll ask about the juice but I think it will be no.

Things I'm looking forward to:

1. Not cringing every time I pass a mirror (including the rear view mirror).

2. Not worrying about side-profile pics (I have the worst double chin!)

3. Riding on any roller coaster I want!

4. POSSIBLY being able to get pregnant.

5. Wearing shorts for the first time since 9th grade.

6. Not always being the largest person in the room.

7. Having more energy!

8. Feeling like in not constantly being judged when I'm eating in public.

9. Feeling pretty for my husband (he has always said I'm beautiful, I just want to feel confident!)

10. Being able to order any bridesmaid dress (not just the ones who have extended sizes).

11. Feeling like I can enter the job market confidently (not planning on it, but you never know!).

There are so many more, but these are the biggest! What about all of you?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
