Hello everyone just had a question for all you out there. So I had my sleeve done in November 2013. I have lost 80lbs so far and I get about 70-80 grams of Protein a day and my 64oz of Water too (I have days here and there that I might not hit my marks but most days I'm good) my question was if any of you have suffered from dizziness? A few months ago I had an episode where I was sitting down and got up and the whole room was spinning and like everything turned dark for a second. I just stood there and then I was fine. I thought maybe I got up to fast. Then a few weeks later it happened again but worse while I was taking a shower and I literally almost passed out. But I had had a couple of days of not getting all my water in and I was under a lot of stress, my mom even said I was pushing myself to much and that my body was losing weight fast so I needed to slow down. It's has been about 2 months since this has all happened and I have been fine making sure to slow down and get all my nutrients in. But last week I started with like pressure on my forehead and if I'm bending over and get up I have to wait before I can walk cause I get a little dizzy(nothing like before so I'm not sure if it's even related). I take all my Vitamins too so I pretty sure it's not that. I have an apt with my nutritionist and surgeon next week and I'm going to mention this to them. I just wanted to see if this had happened to anyone.

Thanks

This is a concern for me because I already have dizzy spells and I haven't been sleeved yet. I have done it for years. It could be low sugar or low blood pressure. Be sure to talk about it with your Dr. God Bless!!!

I never had them before. And my blood pressure is good. I'm almost thinking it has something to do with my inner ear. But idk. Thanks and God Bless you too!

Just fyi my doc said that if my sodium got too low it would make me dizzy. I was buying all low sodium products and they said I make sure I was getting enough salt.

A friend of mine had an intere ear issue this week. His description was that everything spun. For instance, at the doc office the little round stool would just spin. He threw up 4 times in the office. He was given a dramimean (spelling) patch which seemed to help. You could try that and see if it works. Make sure to do your vitimins.

I had an inner-ear thing before, and OMG it was unpleasant. But it was an almost constant thing...every time I stood up, sat down, laid down. My doctor referred me to an ENT, and I had my inner ear crystals vibrated back into place (that was the layman's explanation...he gave it to me in a lot of medical terms as well which I couldn't remember if you paid me).

I would have guessed low blood sugar, as what you're describing sounds a lot like what hubby describes when he has a hypoglycemic incident, but definitely check with your doctor to be sure. There are so many things it could be that it's worth getting checked out.

The getting up and getting dizzy issue make me think it is low blood pressure. That happens to me. It could also be low blood sugar. Some people experience hypoglycemia after surgery. It can make you dizzy, shaky, sweaty. (not fun. And I experience it just about every day lately...I am a diabetic working on lowering my meds.) When you feel that way, have a quick snack that includes some carbs. 15 grams should do it. And talk to your doc. if it continues.

Your loss is awesome! :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
