2 weeks post-OP sore throat?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I started mushie foods this week and notice that I usually get a sore throat that I can feel swallowing for a while after eating. liquids don't do it, just anything more dense. I know getting nicked by the breathing tube during surgery can cause sore throats, but what I've read says it should clear in a few days.

Did anyone else have sore throat post surgery this long after?

@@JessS I didn't after Lap Band surgery, but after I had my gallbladder removed I lost my voice for a week and my throat was sore for several weeks after. That being said, I would give your surgeon a call just to be safe.

Also, have you had heartburn or any acid reflux issues? Or did they do a hernia repair?

Maybe go back to full liquids for a few days -- also it's allergy season so that could be a factor....Checking with the doc always a good idea! And congratulations on the band! It's really all about the signaling of the esophageal squeezes up to the brain so you get that satiety. Good time to be listening in to the body and learning your signals -- it will all come together. It you're still healing. Best wishes to you for a wonderful summer of health!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
