I also have Aetna. The person I sit across from at work started the paper process a couple of weeks after I did. He got approved in a couple of weeks and I am still waiting. I am into it about 8 weeks at this point. Hurry up and wait!!!

I have Aetna and I was told by several reps that Aetna has 30 days to approve or deny a person for surgery.

You could always call Aetna. I ended up having to do that and got my approval this way. They gave me a confirmation number to give to the doctor and this allowed me to get my date of surgery set.

I have Aetna also. My BMI is 36. I applied with the O-band center and they claim I am pre approved based on my co morbidity and previous band removal. I have an appointment next week with a surgeon. I'll report back once I meet them

Mine took about a month. So far the waiting has been the worst part of the process.
